About this Senior/ Public Health Officer (Strategy and Evaluation) role at Singapore Public Service
[What the role is]
As a Senior/Public Health Officer of the Immunisation Policy and Strategy (IPS) Division, you will be contributing to the Division’s objective of minimising morbidity and mortality of vaccine-preventable diseases of public health importance through shaping national immunisation policies and strategies.You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time.
[What you will be working on]
You will be involved in the development of the national strategy for vaccine-related countermeasures as part of national preparedness and pandemic-related planning.
Given the cross-cutting nature of the work, you will collaborate closely with a diverse range of local and international stakeholders, including government agencies, research institutions, healthcare partners, industry, and global organisations. You will contribute to policy development, coordinate cross-agency initiatives, monitor emerging developments in the global vaccine landscape, and support Singapore's engagement with international partners to strengthen pandemic preparedness and resilience.
Develop the national strategy for vaccine-related counter measures as part of national preparedness and pandemic-related planning.
Coordinate vaccine-related pandemic preparedness efforts across government agencies and key stakeholders, including international partners.
Engage local and international partners to strengthen collaboration in vaccine pandemic preparedness.
[What we are looking for]
• Minimum tertiary qualifications from recognised discipline preferably in public health, epidemiology, infectious diseases, or equivalent or work experience in public health-related field and/or policy would be an added advantage
• Candidates with relevant clinical and vaccinology background are strongly preferred
• Good personal management and organisational abilities to engage a large variety of stakeholders
• Forward-thinking, analytical mindset
• Good situational awareness regarding global developments in vaccine scientific information and data, manufacturing/ pandemic preparedness, with the ability to integrate these developments with research findings to shape policy
• Good understanding of local and international communicable disease control principles
• Committed to work and willingness to work under pressure
