Job Description Summary 

JLL is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Project Manager (m/w/d) Project & Development Services - Data Center. The qualified candidate will oversee a wide variety of colocation and hyperscale data center projects from feasibility studies, site due diligence, campus planning, conceptual/schematic/detailed design through construction documents, and construction administration. The ideal candidate has experience managing in all aspects of the project management of colocation and hyperscale data centers as part project lead or project manager for min. 3 to 5 years, has a background in civil engineering or electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering, and possesses exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and German. Willingness to travel is a basic requirement.

Duties & Responsibilities depending on the project phases and contents: 

Project Leadership & Management

Lead and manage project delivery with full responsibility for timely, high-quality performance. Develop Project Structure Plans (PSP), RACI matrices, and Project Execution Plans (PEP) in coordination with clients. Manage risk mitigation, cost control, and change management processes. Establish communication plans and change management procedures.

Design & Planning Management

Oversee timely submission of design documents across all project phases (concept, schematic, detailed, and issued-for-construction stages). Develop and update procurement strategies. Review and approve HSE strategies and plans. Evaluate value engineering proposals and alternative material requests in collaboration with the commercial team.

Procurement & Contractor Selection

Conduct prequalification of contractors during tender stage and provide client recommendations for contractor selection.

Construction Execution & Quality Assurance

Coordinate all construction activities to ensure adherence to project program. Conduct regular site inspections to verify quality and compliance with contract documents. Review material submittals, method statements, shop drawings, and technical documentation. Monitor compliance with HSE plans and work safety standards. Oversee FIDIC Engineer in day-to-day contractor management.

ICT&S Systems (Specialized Area)

Design, budget, supervise installation, and commission ICT&S systems (PSIM, CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, intercom, barriers, audio-visual, structured cabling). Coordinate with client operations teams, authorities, and multidisciplinary internal teams. Facilitate testing after commissioning, system handover, and training delivery.

Data Center Projects (Specialized Area)

Lead data center core and shell due diligence and design projects (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, security, fire protection) from inception to completion. Ensure budget and schedule adherence with repeatable quality. Develop and enforce multi-site project and program management plans. Conduct peer reviews and quality checks aligned with JLL standards. Manage basis of design and localization processes. Establish processes to detect, track, and resolve scope changes and inconsistencies.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

Host and lead meetings with contractors, clients, and external stakeholders. Proactively communicate project updates and resolve issues. Manage contractor correspondence and queries throughout the project lifecycle. Develop technical and financial proposals for new and add/move/change projects. Build trusting relationships with client stakeholders and decision-makers.

Team & Resource Management

Identify, onboard, and offboard design resources in coordination with department leadership. Manage and develop the data center design team, fostering collaboration and collective ownership.

Project Documentation & Reporting

Prepare Site Instructions, Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), and project administration documents (status updates, action item/risk trackers, meeting minutes, quality reports). Analyze monthly progress reports in coordination with planning and control teams. Ensure delivery within budget and timeline while meeting all requirements.
