The Purpose
As a Senior Product Manager for Merchants and Online products within our AP+ Retail Payments team, you’ll take end-to-end accountability for retail products in online payment channels across their full lifecycle, shaping propositions, roadmaps and delivery to meet customer needs and strategic objectives. You’ll combine market insight, user feedback and performance data with strong stakeholder leadership to guide decisions, deliver change and continually evolve products within Australia’s payments ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities the Role Owns:
- Formulate a clear product definition and strategy for eftpos card-not-present products including identifying opportunities to strengthen eftpos' relevance, customer value and sustainable competitive advantage in online payments.
- Lead product through the full product lifecycle from inception and proposition development through launch, growth, optimisation and retirement.
- Gather and communicate customer, market, stakeholder and product performance insights on trends, needs and risks to shape product propositions, positioning, priorities and development.
- Develop business cases and inform investment decisions through opportunity sizing, feasibility assessment, financial modelling, risk analysis and strategic alignment.
- Define product roadmap and work with product owner(s) to detail product requirements and priorities based on business objectives and customer value.
- Collaborate with Scheme and Commercial Teams to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer.
- You’ll likely be a strong fit for this role if:
- You have 5+ years of product management experience with a focus on card payments and e-commerce.
- You’ve shaped product propositions and roadmaps using market research, user insight, feedback and product performance data.
- You have proven experience developing and commercialising eCommerce payment products or services, ideally involving acquirers, payment service providers and merchants, with a strong understanding of how these participants interact across the online payments value chain
- You bring strong customer and stakeholder management, with proven ability to influence and communicate with stakeholders across the value chain as well as commercial, marketing and delivery teams. You’re confident developing business cases, translating strategy into clear product outcomes and influencing senior stakeholders through evidence-based advice.
- You bring strong knowledge of payments products, technology, and the financial industry, supported by relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry experience.
