This role is offered on a 23 month Fixed Term Contract with the potential to be extended/ made permanent in the future

What you will do:

  • Act as technical owner for assigned Lab Filtration product families, providing independent engineering judgement and technical direction across product performance, design, manufacturing capability, compliance, and lifecycle decisions.
  • Lead complex design changes, supplier changes, product transfers, sustainment programmes, and technical workstreams, including planning engineering deliverables, assessing risk, and driving decisions through appropriate governance and change-control processes.
  • Lead verification, validation, product characterisation, qualification, design review, and risk-management activities for new product development, product improvement, and lifecycle projects.
  • Lead the resolution of significant product, manufacturing, quality, and customer issues using advanced root-cause analysis; define technically justified corrective and preventive actions and support operational recovery where required.
  • Deliver strategic improvements in quality, cost, capacity, reliability, manufacturability, and customer outcomes while mentoring colleagues and influencing engineering standards and best practices across related teams.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent recognised qualification, in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Design, Materials Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Substantial experience in product engineering, sustaining engineering, product development, or regulated manufacturing, including independent ownership of complex technical deliverables.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary technical projects or engineering workstreams involving design change, product transfer, supplier change, validation, or product lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of design control, verification and validation, technical risk management, engineering change control, and structured root-cause analysis.
  • Experience influencing cross-functional decisions and communicating technical recommendations to Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Product Management, or other business stakeholders.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to travel – 10% travel, overnight, within territory or locations
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience in filtration, life sciences, medical devices, diagnostics, biotechnology, or another regulated industry.
  • Experience leading supplier qualification, global manufacturing transfer, or business-continuity engineering activities.
  • Working knowledge of quality and regulatory frameworks applicable to healthcare, life-science, or medical-device products.
