Senior Engineer, Product Applications (P3)

Job Summary

The Product Applications Engineer will support the evaluation, characterization, validation, and customer enablement of Analog Devices' mixed-signal semiconductor solutions. Working closely with Design, Systems, Product Marketing, and Customer teams, the engineer will develop reference designs, create technical collateral, investigate product and customer issues, and deliver system-level application support.

The ideal candidate combines strong hardware and software skills with hands-on laboratory experience and the ability to independently solve complex technical challenges while contributing to product success and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

•Evaluate, characterize, and validate semiconductor products, reference platforms, and system-level solutions.

•Develop customer-facing application collateral, software tools, reference designs, and demonstration platforms.

•Support customers and field application teams in resolving technical issues and driving successful product adoption.

•Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle, including Design, Systems Engineering, Product Marketing, Quality, and Manufacturing.

•Drive root-cause analysis, debugging, characterization, and performance optimisation activities.

•Develop automated test and validation solutions using scripting and software tools.

•Contribute to technical reviews, documentation, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

•Support new product introduction activities, silicon bring-up, and validation efforts.

Key Qualifications

•M.S./M.Tech./B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or a related engineering discipline with 5+ years of industry experience.

•Hands-on experience in one or more of the following application domains:

 •Smart Energy Meters

 •Intelligent Circuit Breakers

 •Power Distribution Units (PDUs)

 •Data Centre Power Delivery Networks

 •Power Monitoring and Energy Management Systems

•Strong understanding of mixed-signal systems, embedded systems, power electronics, energy metering, or industrial measurement applications.

•Proficiency in C and Python.

•Hands-on experience in hardware design, development, debugging, validation, and system bring-up.

•Familiarity with standard laboratory test and measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, source measurement units (SMUs), power analyzers, electronic loads, and digital multimeters.

•Experience in product characterization, performance evaluation, and root-cause analysis.

•Knowledge of communication interfaces such as SPI, I²C, UART, and other embedded peripherals.

•Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

•Proficient in English.

Preferred Qualifications

•Experience with energy metering, power quality monitoring, grid modernisation, or utility automation systems.

•Familiarity with metrology algorithms, ADC signal chains, calibration techniques, and sensor interfaces.

•Experience with ARM-based processors, microcontrollers, and embedded firmware development.

•Knowledge of power monitoring architectures used in hyperscale and enterprise data centres.

•Experience developing customer-facing reference designs, evaluation platforms, and technical documentation.

•Familiarity with IEC, ANSI, and other industry standards related to measurement, metering, and power quality.
