Your Role and Responsibilities

Act as lead engineer for the design and development of power converters, by defining and developing innovative power electronics solutions to fulfill customers requirements, within a multi-disciplinary team of electrical, mechanical, thermal and control experts.

In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.

Work model: #LI-Hybrid

  • Lead the end-to-end design and development of innovative power converters, including simulation, validation, documentation, and testing of both hardware and software components.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers and suppliers to define technical requirements, develop cooling systems, and ensure feasibility and integration of solutions.

  • Conduct hands-on testing and troubleshooting, build simulation models and prototypes, analyze performance data, and optimize designs for efficiency and reliability.

  • Drive technological innovation by staying updated on industry trends, proposing new methodologies, and contributing to the strategic direction of power electronics development.

  • Design and optimize power converter architectures for low-voltage DC applications, including power semiconductor selection (Si, SiC, GaN), PCB layout review, thermal/electrical simulations, and system validation using tools such as MATLAB, LTspice, PLECS and Ansys.

Qualifications for the Role

  • MSc or PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, specializing in Power Electronics and converter design

  • 5+ years of experience in power electronics development, including simulation, prototyping, and testing

  • Proficient in power conversion topologies and power semiconductor technologies (modules and discrete)

  • Skilled in simulation tools such as LTspice, PLECS, Simulink, Ansys, Maxwell, Icepak, and Fluent

  • Experienced with MATLAB, Python (NumPy), MathCAD, and PCB design tools like Altium Designer

  • Hands-on expertise in lab testing, using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and other diagnostic equipment

  • Fluent in English, with strong communication skills and a proactive, innovation-driven mindset

Compensation Package 

As part of our commitment to transparency, we want to share the compensation details for this position:

  • Applicable CBA: Metalmeccanico  

  • Minimum annual salary: € 39.000

  • Variable Pay: Eligible for Company Productivity Bonus
