In the Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure organization, we build and operate the platforms, services, and tooling that serve as the gateway to cloud for engineering teams across the enterprise. As a Senior Platform Engineer (f/m/x), you will design, build, and operate scalable platform services, cloud-native applications, and developer platform capabilities that enable engineering teams to deliver software efficiently, securely, and at scale. Leveraging your expertise in Golang, distributed systems, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, and modern AI-driven engineering practices, you will help shape the next generation of platform solutions and developer experiences across the organization.

Your key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate cloud-native platform services and distributed systems using Go/Golang, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), ensuring scalability, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Build and enhance platform automation, self-service workflows, APIs, and developer platform capabilities to streamline software delivery and improve developer productivity.
• Design and implement observability, telemetry, and reliability solutions, leveraging monitoring, logging, tracing, and SRE practices to ensure platform health and performance.
• Drive adoption of modern cloud-native technologies, Kubernetes patterns, GitOps practices, and software engineering best practices across the organization.
• Mentor engineers through technical leadership, code reviews, design reviews, and knowledge sharing, fostering a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement.

Your skills and experiences

• Strong software engineering experience with proficiency in a modern programming language. Professional experience with Golang is preferred
• Proven experience designing and operating distributed systems at scale.
• Strong hands-on experience with Public Cloud (preferably GCP),
• Experience with cloud-native architectures, microservices, APIs, and observability.
• Strong engineering mindset with a focus on quality, automation, and operational excellence.
• Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
