Introduction to the role

As part of our strategy to mature and scale the Physical Security Innovation capability within Digital Technology Solutions (DTS) 2nd Line Physical Security & Identity, our Physical Security & Identity Innovation team is seeking a senior physical security & identity innovation specialist.

In this role, you will translate innovation strategy into tangible outcomes by connecting business needs, security risks and emerging opportunities to a governed innovation portfolio, driving investment decisions and enabling the development of future Physical Security capabilities across the organization.

Role and responsibilities

The Physical Security Innovation function is responsible for identifying, prioritizing and governing innovation opportunities that strengthen ASML’s (future) physical security capabilities. By translating security risks, business challenges and emerging opportunities into scalable solutions, the team enables the continuous improvement of Physical Security across ASML.

Operating at the intersection of DTS Physical Security & Identity, CRE Center of Excellence and other sectors, this role creates the connection between innovation strategy and operational implementation. The role is responsible for building trusted partnerships, establishing innovation governance and ensuring innovations are successfully transitioned into operational capabilities, standards and services.

As a senior physical security & identity innovation specialist, you will report to the Manager Physical Security & Identity Innovation and will evolve into the deputy and trusted advisor of the Physical Security Innovation function. You will help mature and scale the Physical Security Innovation capability and contribute to the development of future innovation professionals within the organization.

In this position, you will:

  • Drive innovation portfolio management processes, resulting in a transparent, prioritized and actively governed portfolio of Physical Security innovation initiatives
  • Develop business cases and investment proposals that enable informed decision-making on innovation opportunities, technologies and capability investments
  • Define, implement and continuously improve innovation governance, decision-making processes, evaluation criteria and investment frameworks
  • Create and maintain an innovation funneling mechanism that ensures ideas, risks, opportunities and emerging technologies are collected, assessed, prioritized and matured in alignment with Physical Security objectives and standards
  • Translate innovation opportunities into future capability roadmaps, architectural direction, standards and strategic improvement initiatives
  • Develop trusted partnerships across DTS, CRE Center of Excellence, sectors and external partners to identify innovation opportunities, align priorities and support innovation adoption
  • Establish and maintain transition and adoption mechanisms that ensure validated innovations are effectively integrated into standards, implementation initiatives and operational services within the Physical Security community
  • Provide functional leadership, coaching and guidance to future innovation specialists responsible for feasibility studies, market research, proof of concepts, pilots and innovation execution

Education and experience

To be successful in the role, you have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in innovation management, technology management, security management, business administration or equivalent
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in innovation, portfolio management, governance, program management or strategic initiatives
  • Proven experience developing business cases, investment proposals and management recommendations
  • Demonstrated experience establishing governance structures, processes, operating models or decision-making frameworks in a complex organization
  • Experience working across strategic, governance and operational functions while building alignment across diverse stakeholder groups

  • Affinity with security, technology and innovation, combined with the ability to translate opportunities into structured and measurable business outcomes
  • Strong capability to create structure, governance and repeatable ways of working in ambiguous or evolving environments
  • Business acumen to assess opportunities and develop compelling business cases, investment proposals and management recommendations
  • Strategic thinking combined with the ability to translate long-term objectives into actionable roadmaps, priorities and measurable outcomes
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, building trusted partnerships and alignment across governance, expert and operational teams without direct authority
  • Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear management updates, executive presentations and decision-making materials

Other information

A Certificate of Good Conduct “Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag (VOG)” is required for this position.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
