Role Summary: 

Under the direction of the Operations Manager, install, repair, and operate equipment in support of the services Polygon US provides to its customers. Services that are provided by Polygon include but are not limited to Temporary Climate Solutions, Emergency Drying Services, and Document Recovery Services. Though a technician may specialize in one area of these services, it is expected that technicians be willing and able to support all service lines provided by Polygon if requested. A Senior Operations Technician is also expected to lead and mentor other technicians, and in some cases take on a supervisory role on projects or in the local office.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Engage in and promote all health and safety protocols and processes at Polygon
  • Utilize and advocate the Polygon Model in daily functions and activities
  • Operate company vehicles in a safe and courteous manner while following federally mandated DOT regulations and completing documentation as required. Vehicles are equipped with electronic monitoring devices and drivers are required to have a minimum safety score that is determined by the Polygon EH&S Manager
  • Accurately complete on a daily basis all project, equipment maintenance, and other documentation as required
  • Complete and submit expense reports accurately and in a timely fashion to ensure company issued credit card is not delinquent in payment
  • Set up, maintain, and demobilize temporary climate control equipment on project sites that includes but is not limited to:
    • Desiccant Dehumidifiers
    • Refrigerant Based Dehumidifiers
    • DX Air Conditioning Units
    • Air Cooled Chillers
    • Air Handlers and Coil Modules
    • Heaters (gas, electric, diesel)
    • Ventilation and Air Filtration
    • Remote Monitoring and Controls
  • Communicate and interface proactively with assigned supervisor regarding fleet readiness and project updates or status
  • Assist in development of best practices and processes for the assigned office
  • Prioritize repair and maintenance of equipment in the assigned office based upon needs of the business and budgetary constraints
  • Take part in pre-project planning activities as required
  • Mentor and assist with training needs for new and developing Operations Technicians
  • In the local office, minimize out of service equipment in the fleet and engage in activities to make out of service equipment ready to rent
  • Assist in large scale projects or catastrophe events as required and available
  • Maintain clean and orderly work area and vehicle
  • Enter time into NetSuite and ADP per company guidelines
  • Utilize current ERP (NetSuite) for all functions of the position including but not limited to project management, asset management, inventory, purchasing, and time entry

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of technical school or two years on the job experience in a related field preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical, HVAC, and mechanical skills. High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Must have strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills along with technical skills
  • Must be Team oriented and professional manner
  • Ability to perform duties that are physical in nature
  • Willing to work overtime when needed
  • Willing to travel on short notice, sometimes for extended duration (typically 1-3 weeks)
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to utilize and tow trailers for delivery of equipment
  • Ability to use IT hardware and equipment for documentation and reporting
  • Ability to assist with scope and design of basic or complex projects
  • Be prepared to respond to phone and service calls 24 hours per day 7 days a week

Minimum Training Requirements and Competencies:

  • All items under Polygon Operations Technician I, II, and Senior Technician completed
  • Polygon Core Competencies Level 3 complete and reviewed by supervisor
  • Wiring diagrams and schematics, 3rd party course
  • OSHA 30 hour safety training
  • THC Fundamentals Course (Polygon internal)
  • Coaching and mentoring course (3rd Party)
  • NFPA 70E course (3rd Party)
  • IICRC or equivalent courses for WRT/ASD:
    • WRT (Water Damage Restoration Technician) - required
    • ASD (Applied Structural Drying)
  • Competent to work on all Polygon equipment within rental fleet
  • Ability to use Polygon  DPC and Psyc It apps
  • Polygon Learning Zone Courses completed for:
    • OT1 - (Operations Technician Level 1)
    • OT2 - (Operations Technician Level 2)
    • Senior Technician
  • Ability to use internal sizing and design software which includes but is not limited to PsycPro, Drycool HCUB, Heat Calc, and moisture load worksheets
  • Other Training courses determined by regional influence (examples include heating or cooling courses)
