Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:

As the Senior Merchant 2 - Regional Merchandising Excellence, you support the Regional Merchandising leadership team in strengthening organizational effectiveness, consistency, and operational excellence across the merchandising function.

Working closely with the Senior Vice President, Regional Merchandising, you help establish scalable ways of working, governance frameworks, and best practices that enable teams to operate more effectively and efficiently. You play a key role in connecting regional insights, organizational learnings, and cross-functional feedback to support continuous improvement and stronger collaboration across the business.

You are passionate about creating clarity, simplifying complexity, and building processes and tools that help teams collaborate effectively while staying aligned with the brand vision and merchandising objectives.

This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

 

Meet your future team:

The Regional Merchandising team is responsible for delivering regional, seasonal product assortments that support the overall global product direction and regional business achievement. In partnership with the Product Line Management (PLM) team, Merchants drive company sales, gross margin, and inventory productivity goals, in both our wholesale and vertical channels. This team translates market and consumer insights into actionable product strategies, ensuring both global consistency and regional relevance.

Regional Merchandising Excellence is a new function that will support effectiveness and continuous improvement of the Regional Merchandising organization. Through process optimization, governance, knowledge sharing, and cross-functional collaboration, the team helps strengthen organizational capabilities, improve communication, and promote consistent ways of working across regions.

If you were in the Senior Merchant 2 - Regional Merchandising Excellence role now, here are some of the core activities you would be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Regional Merchandising leadership team in optimizing operating processes, communication best practices, and ways of working
  • Developing and maintaining merchandising playbooks, protocols, and best practice resources to improve consistency and operational effectiveness
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of governance frameworks and decision-support tools that improve organizational alignment and execution
  • Gathering, consolidating, and synthesizing regional market, consumer, and business feedback to support merchandising discussions and planning activities
  • Bringing deep understanding of key markets, particularly China, to ensure global merchandising frameworks reflect regional consumer behaviour, product demand, and commercial realities while maintaining enterprise-wide consistency
  • Facilitating communication and knowledge sharing across regional and global teams to strengthen collaboration and transparency
  • Supporting cross-functional initiatives and key projects by coordinating stakeholders, tracking progress, and helping drive execution
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, simplify workflows, and enhance team effectiveness
  • Establishing knowledge management practices that capture learnings and encourage the sharing of best practices across the organization
  • Supporting Merchandising reviews, leadership workshops, and key organizational meetings through preparation, coordination, and follow-up
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and operational excellence within the merchandising organization
  • Partnering with our Process Operations teams to integrate regional merchandising protocols into our broader Ideas-to-Consumer and Go-to-Market operating models

  • You have 8+ years’ experience in merchandising, merchandising operations, business operations, project management, or a related function within a consumer, retail, apparel, or product-led organization
  • You have a deep understanding of merchandising operating models, governance, and cross-functional business processes
  • You have a proven ability to build scalable frameworks, tools, and best practices that improve consistency and operational excellence across regions.
  • You have experience partnering with regional merchandising teams across global markets, balancing local business needs with enterprise-wide standards and ways of working
  • You have strong program management skills with experience coordinating complex cross-functional initiatives and multiple stakeholders
  • You have the ability to connect teams, information, and data to enable effective communication, transparency, and informed decision-making
  • You have an analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable recommendations
  • You have excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, building alignment without direct authority
  • You have experience driving continuous improvement, simplifying processes, and enhancing merchandising ways of working.
  • You are a strategic thinker who balances operational detail with broader business objectives and organizational priorities.
  • Compensation:

    The salary range for this role is CAD$126,000 - CAD$165,000
