Location: East Providence, RI

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (with rotating weekends and holidays)

What You’ll Do

• Drive Diagnostic Excellence: Perform, analyze, and interpret manual and automated microbiology testing across all specimen types, accurately distinguishing pathogens from normal flora.
• Ensure Quality & Compliance: Maintain rigorous quality control, instrument calibration, and adherence to CAP, state, and federal standards.
• Collaborate & Consult: Perform antimicrobial sensitivity testing and act as a resource for physicians and nursing staff regarding test results.
• Support the Team: Help process specimens, assist with training, and participate in special departmental projects or product evaluations.

What You'll Need

• Education: B.S. in Medical Technology, Biological Science, Chemistry, or Physical Science (or military equivalent with official transcripts).
• Certification: ASCP (MLS), AMT, or HEW certification required.
• Experience: 3–4+ years of hands-on microbiology experience as an MT or MLT.
• Technical Fit: Comfortable working without automated identification systems like MALDI.
