Our client is seeking a Senior Marketing Manager to lead creative, advertising, media buying, brand, communications, sponsorship support, and campaign delivery across a busy live events calendar.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, this hands-on player-coach will lead the team, strengthen workflows, and own campaigns from strategy through post-event reporting. The ideal candidate combines structured planning and strong people leadership with the agility required in a fast-moving live entertainment environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Marketing team, including regular one-on-ones, annual evaluations, and support for part-time staff and interns
  • Oversee creative, advertising, and brand management activity supporting facilities, events, campaigns, and organizational priorities
  • Serve as lead point of contact for major event marketing campaigns, including strategy, budget allocation, execution, and post-event reporting
  • Direct media buying across television, OTT, radio, out-of-home, digital, and print, including performance tracking and budget optimization
  • Review and approve advertising campaigns, collateral, signage, content rotations, and other creative materials for quality and alignment
  • Manage the Marketing Department budget, including expenditure tracking, invoice coding, and reallocation of funds as needed
  • Compile, review, and approve marketing settlement packets covering paid and added-value efforts for each show
  • Develop communications strategy with the Director of Marketing, including news releases, press advisories, media opportunities, and local media relationships
  • Oversee designers, advertising agencies, vendors, partners, and other external contacts required for project delivery
  • Manage department workflow through Asana, email, and verbal communication to keep priorities, deadlines, and ownership clear
  • Partner with promoters and internal stakeholders to balance externally driven creative requirements with market-specific marketing judgment
  • Monitor local, regional, and industry trends to identify opportunities for audience growth, promotions, and new market development
  • Support sponsorship concepts and execution in partnership with marketing and entertainment colleagues
  • Work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the live event schedule

Requirements

  • Proven direct people-management experience, including coaching staff and handling performance or workplace conflict conversations
  • Approximately ten years of progressively responsible marketing experience in venue marketing, live entertainment, sports, conventions, theater, or comparable event-focused marketing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to connect teams, promoters, media, vendors, leadership, and public-facing stakeholders
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, time-management, problem-solving, and multitasking skills in a high-capacity, low-lead-time environment
  • Willingness and ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules
  • Proven media-buying experience across television, OTT, radio, outdoor, digital, and print, including performance tracking and budget optimization
  • Broad integrated marketing experience spanning brand management, creative oversight, advertising, PR, media relations, sponsorship support, and vendor or agency management
  • Experience managing a department or campaign budget, including invoice coding, spend tracking, reallocation, settlement, or post-campaign financial reporting
  • Ability to maintain effective relationships at all levels of an organization, with outside business contacts, and with the public

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or a related field
  • Experience with Asana or comparable project management software such as Monday, Trello, Wrike, Basecamp, Smartsheet, or Jira
  • Hands-on experience with website CMS platforms or oversight of digital content updates
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or experience directing designers and reviewing creative work
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365
  • Prior exposure to venue-operations software such as Prism or Momentus
  • Genuine interest in live entertainment, public events, and positive community impact
