Purpose of the Role:

The Process Engineer is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations through the administration and continuous improvement of production equipment maintenance systems, monitoring production performance, and ensuring compliance with quality and operational standards.

This role plays a key part in maintaining efficient manufacturing processes, supporting non-conformance investigations, and driving a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.

This role will be based at our TPM in Fermoy, Cork.

Key Responsibilities:

As a key member of the engineering team, you will:

  • Lead and deliver engineering projects from concept through execution, ensuring objectives, timelines, budgets, and quality standards are achieved.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing priorities while driving successful outcomes.

  • Develop and execute project strategies, monitoring scope, cost, schedule, and overall performance.

  • Conduct technical evaluations, economic analyses, and feasibility studies to support informed business decisions.

  • Apply innovative engineering principles and emerging technologies to improve products, processes, systems, and facilities.

  • Design, execute, and analyze complex experiments to generate insights and drive continuous improvement.

  • Use data-driven decision-making to identify trends, solve problems, and uncover opportunities for optimization.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contractors, vendors, and key stakeholders to achieve shared goals.

  • Anticipate future challenges and opportunities by monitoring industry trends, technological developments, and business needs.

  • Drive process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall effectiveness.

  • Present technical findings and recommendations to a broad range of audiences, from technical teams to senior leadership.

  • Mentor and support fellow engineers, sharing expertise and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

Education & Experience

Essential

  • Third-level qualification or trade certification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Science, or a related technical discipline.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional manufacturing environment.

  • Good communication and organizational skills.

Preferred

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.

  • Experience working in a regulated industry such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, or healthcare manufacturing.

  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems and manufacturing process controls.

  • Familiarity with quality systems, non-conformance management, and continuous improvement methodologies.
