We’re looking for a highly motivated and experienced quantitative risk professional with direct IMM and Counterparty Credit Risk modelling experience, alongside a track record of delivering complex modelling or regulatory change initiatives.

Success in this role will require strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders across Risk, Finance, Technology and Front Office functions.

The Role:

  • Direct experience of Internal Model Method (IMM) development and/or regulatory approval activities is essential for this role.
  • The role will involve leading modelling workstreams, influencing senior stakeholders, shaping methodology decisions and contributing to a major regulatory capital transformation programme.
  • We’re looking for an experienced Counterparty Credit Risk modelling specialist to lead the development, enhancement and implementation of key components of Lloyds Banking Group's Internal Model Methodology (IMM) framework for Counterparty Credit Risk, supporting regulatory capital calculations, PRA submission activities, and the transition from standardised methodologies towards risk-sensitive internal models.
  • The role combines quantitative modelling, regulatory interpretation, model governance and stakeholder engagement to deliver a robust IMM framework that satisfies regulatory requirements whilst supporting business growth and effective risk management.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the development and enhancement of IMM methodologies for Counterparty Credit Risk.
  • Deliver quantitative analysis supporting model approval and regulatory submissions.
  • Engage with Model Validation, Audit and Regulatory stakeholders throughout the model lifecycle.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, methodology papers and governance artefacts.
  • Support model performance monitoring, backtesting and ongoing model enhancements.
  • Collaborate across Risk, Finance, Technology and Front Office teams to deliver strategic modelling solutions.
  • Mentor and support junior modelling colleagues.

Essential skills & experience:

  • Direct experience of Internal Model Method (IMM) development and/or regulatory approval activities within a banking environment, including knowledge of Basel Counterparty Credit Risk regulations and IMM requirements.
  • Strong collaboration skills, communicating technical concepts clearly to help build relationships and influence diverse audiences.
  • A proactive growth mindset, striving to challenge, simplify and improve existing ways of working through automation, visualisation, and alternative methodologies.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience of Monte Carlo simulation methodologies and exposure modelling.
  • Experience interacting with model validation and governance teams.
  • Experience supporting regulatory model submissions.
  • Knowledge of derivative products, collateral and margining.
  • Python or equivalent quantitative programming capability.
