Job Summary:

Responsible for strategic planning and the management of developing, implementing and maintaining appropriate learning and development (L&D) solutions. Ensures supply chain for L&D best practices is leveraged globally. Provides direction to team as well as entire organization on effective learning and development initiatives and technology solutions. Ensures adherence to applicable government regulations. Ensures that organization and development goals are in the best interest of the organization, while properly leveraging human resources to achieve these goals.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Develops learning and development strategies for all levels of the organization
• Directs the efforts of others in the achievement of the strategic and operational objectives of the group
• Manages the hiring, staffing and maintenance of a diverse and effective team
• Responsible for career development/planning, performance and pay discussions of direct reports
• Directs the research, development, implementation and maintenance of learning and development solutions and technology for the organization
• Provides consulting and strategic business direction within and outside the HR function regarding learning and development solutions
• Leverages global scale for technology, contracts and application of best practices
• Has overall responsibility for developing and implementing effective and productive organizational development and learning solutions
• Directs initiatives and programs to assist with organizational change management
• Works closely with senior leadership in the implementation of corporate policies related to organizational and team member development
• Talent pool management and successor planning.

• Manages direct managers and/or highly skilled specialists who exercise significant latitude and independence. Often oversees one or more departments or related teams.
• Establishes operating policies and procedures that affect departments and direct teams. Interprets enterprise-wide policies and procedures. Develops budgets, schedules and performance standards for one or more departments. Responsible for resources and policy formation in area of responsibility.
• Assignments are defined in the form of long-term objectives. Decisions are guided by resource availability, functional objectives and independent judgment.
• Collaborates frequently with internal and/or external management. Leads meetings and briefings for internal and/or external representatives. Often coordinates efforts between functional areas and/or members of an extended assignment/project team.
• Decisions likely have extended impact on the outcomes of multiple departments or teams. Erroneous decisions or recommendations will likely result in critical delays and/or modifications to projects and/or operations; causing substantial expenditure of additional time, people and/or financial resources, and jeopardize future business activity.

Work Experience:

• Typically 8+ years including 3+ years of management experience

Education and Certification(s):

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
