Position summary

Reporting to Director India Sourcing, this person will be a critical leader responsible for execution of sourcing Cost saving, VAVE, resourcing projects across India Plants with a focus on RRX India region.

The Regional Sourcing Senior Manager is responsible for leading the regional strategic plant level sourcing organization and driving procurement excellence across multiple manufacturing sites and business units. The role develops sourcing strategies, manages supplier relationships, delivers cost productivity, improves supplier performance, and supports business growth through effective sourcing, supplier development, and cross-functional collaboration.

You will bring your demonstrated history of getting quickly adapted to an unfamiliar working environment, building and leveraging relationships in a matrixed environment, working collaboratively to ensure team performance, and successfully influencing a variety of business stakeholders at all levels.

 

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Category Management

  • Develop and execute regional sourcing strategies for direct and indirect materials.
  • Lead category management activities and supplier selection processes.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction, value engineering, and productivity initiatives.
  • Support new product development through supplier engagement and sourcing strategy deployment.

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Establish and maintain strong strategic supplier relationships.
  • Lead supplier business reviews and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Negotiate contracts, commercial agreements, and long-term sourcing arrangements.
  • Manage supplier risk, continuity planning, and capacity assessment

Operational Excellence

  • Drive improvements in cost, quality, delivery, inventory, and working capital.
  • Support supply chain network optimization and sourcing process standardization.
  • Implement sourcing best practices across business units and manufacturing sites.
  • Drive lead time reduction and supplier on-time delivery improvements.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead a team of Category Managers.
  • Develop organizational capability through coaching, mentoring, and talent development.
  • Foster collaboration across Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Drive a high-performance culture focused on accountability and results.

Financial & Business Impact

  • Deliver annual cost savings and productivity targets.
  • Support working capital improvements through inventory and payment-term optimization.
  • Manage sourcing budgets and procurement performance metrics.
  • Provide sourcing insights to support business planning and growth initiatives

Supplier Risk Mitigation

  • Identify and assess supplier risks related to financial stability, capacity, quality, geopolitics, tariffs, natural disasters, and cybersecurity.
  • Develop supplier risk management frameworks and monitoring systems.
  • Establish dual sourcing or multi-sourcing strategies for critical commodities.
  • Drive supplier business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
  • Monitor supplier financial health and operational performance.
  • Reduce dependency on single-source suppliers for strategic components.
  • Lead supplier risk reviews with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Leadership teams.
  • Develop regional and global contingency plans for high-risk suppliers.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong relationships with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Business Leadership teams.
  • Understand stakeholder priorities and translate them into sourcing strategies.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for sourcing-related issues.
  • Lead cross-functional reviews and governance meetings.
  • Communicate sourcing strategies, risks, savings opportunities, and project status effectively.
  • Balance stakeholder requirements while achieving overall business objectives.
  • Ensure alignment between regional plants, global category teams, and corporate leadership.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

‘Must’ Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 20 ~ 25+ years of experience in direct material & Indirect sourcing or procurement, project management or relevant experience in a manufacturing company, (project schedule, planning & execution);
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier contracts.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Proficiency in sourcing and procurement software, ERP systems, Oracle, Excel and PPT.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards.
  • Knowledge of various Quality system methodologies 8D, Lean, 5 Why’s, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, PPAP, APQP, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis is essential.  
  • Project Management Certification, Supply Chain Certifications will be a plus.  
  • Good presentation, verbal and written communication skills.  Fluent in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive productivity and compliance throughout a complex organization.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate, interact, and influence at all levels of the organization to drive results.
  • Excellence in generating accurate and understandable data and reports to analyze performance to make data-driven decisions.

 

‘Nice to Have’ Requirements:

  • Ability to think strategically, conceptually, and analytically to assess problems, identify and consider potential solutions, and make timely recommendations with data-driven analysis.
  • Proven ability to develop trusted, respectful relationships internally and externally.
  • Experience with development of sourcing processes or procurement is a plus. PMP certificate is a plus;
  • High level of personal initiative, energy and ownership of business results.
