About the team and position
We’re looking for an experienced and proven cross-functional Senior Manager to join our unique and exciting organization, supporting the growth of our company through Talent Acquisition efforts. The Senior Manager, Growth strategy & Operations drives the operational rigor, process improvement, team development needed to scale a high-performing Talent Acquisition function. This role is equal parts diagnostician and builder - identifying where the organization is falling short, designing the fix, and driving it through to adoption.
This person will have the unique opportunity to strategically build, develop, and lead the execution of full-cycle recruiting for Carvana’s Operations teams, while guiding a recruiting team to meet (or crush) high-volume hiring targets. This person will also be running point on cross-team execution and ensuring the TA organization operates with consistency, discipline and continuous improvement at its core.
In this role you’ll lead your team to success in one of our company’s top priorities - staffing Carvana’s Operations teams with top talent. You’ll also develop strong business relationships with your business partners and internal customers. Most importantly, you’ll see your efforts and insights result in an immediate, tangible impact every day in a company that’s been (and will continue) changing the game.
Work Location
This role is located at our Corporate HQ in Tempe, AZ and is performed on-site, 5 days a week.
What you’ll be doing
- Conduct ongoing assessments across Operations TA teams to identify process gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement
- Design and implement scalable processes, playbooks, and best practices that raise the bar across all TA teams
- Lead change management for new initiatives — building the case for change, securing buy-in, and driving adoption across teams that may be resistant or under-resourced
- Guide the day-to-day full life-cycle recruiting efforts, strategy and processes for Operations Recruiting.
- Guide a team of recruiting leaders to meet their individual staffing goals through effective hiring, development, coaching, performance management, and engagement.
- Review and analyze data to identify trends; recommend solutions to improve recruiting effectiveness and increase the quality of talent hired.
- Collaborate with hiring managers and department leaders to anticipate and meet evolving hiring needs.
- Ensure a candidate-centric approach aligned with our Carvana Values.
- Partner with Talent Development, HR Operations, and Operations leadership to help translate talent needs into quality candidates and new hires.
- Constantly thinking of new ways to improve all things recruiting including the candidate experience, interview practices, funnel-building, reporting, quality of hire, hiring manager experience, and more.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you should know/have
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited undergraduate institution required.
- 7+ years of work experience in recruiting, strategy, consulting, operations, startups, or similar roles.
- 5+ years of experience in people leadership.
- A self-starter and owner mentality - you can lead “first time” assignments with no playbook from initial question development to rollout
- A proven ability to track, prioritize, and drive operations. You are known as someone who gets stuff done.
- Proven analytical skills. Comfortable leveraging AI tools to accelerate analysis, research, and day-to-day problem-solving.
- Prior experience creating and implementing growth strategies and process improvements.
- Excellent ability to collaborate and apply a cross-functional mindset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to hustle – you get things done even after everyone else has given up, and work hard because you love to. You have a bias towards action.
- Displays strong business acumen – sees the big picture and operates with perspective.
We’d love it if you also have
- MBA or Master’s degree from an accredited graduate school or university.
- Experience in high volume operations Talent Acquisition.
