Job Summary


As a Senior Content Designer, you like being at the intersection of content, design and user experience. You understand that well-designed content brings the same value to your team that it does to end users, just as easy to work with behind the scenes as it is to interact with on the site and app.

In this role, you will champion best practices for storytelling, inclusive design, brand standards and research in all the experiences you build. You will bring partners from design, research, product and engineering into your process, guiding reviews, presentations and everyday interactions with meaningful content choices. Your manager will provide occasional direct support, and your junior colleagues will look to you for mentorship.

Job Responsibilities


  • Translate complex concepts and processes into compelling, easy-to-follow design with exceptional content. 
  • Conduct UX research and champion data science to understand user behaviors and uncover new opportunities to reach customers with appropriate content and reduce friction. 
  • Create content and design ecosystems for multiple channels, devices and touch points across user journey flows, meeting user needs and adhering to enterprise standards.
  • Build, document and deliver assets in our content management system, working with content teammates and engineers on clean, scalable content structures Coordinate content QA and releases with product, engineering and release managers to ensure predictability and quality. 
  • Challenge the status quo and know when to advocate for new design patterns versus relying on old systems.Drive collaboration with designers, product managers and diverse business stakeholders to inform requirements to think beyond the product lifecycle and optimize content and user journey.  
  • Lead other content designers in developing user stories and providing guidance on priorities.Take part in crits and own content reviews and iterations across stakeholders from product to legal.


Required Qualifications


  • Extensive experience with design software (Figma, Airtable, Miro)
  • Experience with AI tools (Claude code, Claude integration with MCPs, Figma Make, etc.)
  • Experience collaborating across disciplines (design, design ops, research and usability, accessibility, product managers and engineering)
  • Experience in working with and improving business requirements 
  • Comfortable with UX and usability terminology, taxonomies and practices, including Design Thinking and Human-Centered Design methods, to solve problems and innovate 
  • Knows how and when to use inventories and audits, content frameworks, competitive analysis and mapping
  • Knows when to collaborate and compromise and when to be the voice for the user and stand up for what’s right


Preferred Qualifications


  • 5+ years' experience in UX writing, UX Design or Content Design 
  • 2+ years' experience with Agile and lean UX/software development practices, including using product management software (Rally, Jira) 
  • 2+ years' experience in web and app experiences 
  • 2+ years' experience collaborating with internal team members, such as experience designers, accessibility experts and product managers
  • 2+ years' experience in UX wireframing, UX flows, and shaping content for multi-disciplinary projects with prototyping software such as Figma and Miro
  • Experience in health care, pharmacy or other regulated fields (insurance, finance, etc.) 
  • Knowledge of enterprise content management systems such as Adobe Experience Manager, Contentful or similar 
  • Portfolio should include work on digital products and/or services, service design or human-centered design 



Education


  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree preferred in the field of Human Computer Interaction, Information Architecture, Technical Writing, English or Journalism.  
  • Extensive work experience, academic work or certifications in user experience fields are also welcome. 

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$75,400.00 - $165,954.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
