A Snapshot
As Senior Manager, Development Safety reporting directly to the AVP Safety, Development Projects, you will work closely with the Safety, Design, Product Development, Operations, and Development teams, making an impact in a number of ways:
- Integral to building a safety culture by managing the health, safety and risk associated with business activities across construction projects in Singapore & Malaysia.
- Drive the implementation of EHS best practise to ensure safety is a priority for employees, contractors, and suppliers.
- Lead project pre-flight safety activities to ensure safety resources, risks, and strategies are agreed prior to contract execution, and carried out during delivery.

Your Day to Day
- Embed safety as a core value and practice into execution.
- Mentor GC Senior Management and Project staff to achieve great project outcomes.
- Ensure construction contracts are structured, resourced, and implemented to deliver safe outcomes.
- Champion the safety culture; engaging with management, contractors, and staff at all levels; and implementing initiatives that embed the safety culture throughout the business.
- Create, implement and manage WHS policies and reporting whilst continually assessing changes in policy and/or practices that may influence the safety context.
- Ascertain project and design related safety risks ahead of time and handle the vital resources and processes allocated to handle and mitigate risks.
- Provide support with the ongoing improvement and implementation of the safety management system to support the company’s dedication to managing safety effectively.
- Be part of developing and implementing appropriate safety and quality standards, and contractual frameworks for suppliers.
- Construct, deliver, and improve internal & external safety communications ensuring appropriate policies, procedures and training programs are in place.
- Maintain and exceed compliance with legal safety requirements as well as internal management system requirements.
- Identify business and stakeholder needs, and design bespoke strategies to improve safety outcomes. Roll these strategies out across the business to allow everyone to benefit from shared learnings.
- Build and implement assurance schedules for Singapore & Malaysia projects to add value and monitor the changing shape of project risk.
- Lead the standardisation of vendor diligence, including safety track record, global sanctions checks and responsible sourcing. Evaluate vendor incentives around safety and code of conduct.
- Lead regular engagement with external stakeholders i.e. vendors, customers and suppliers to align on AirTrunk Safety expectations and performance.
- Provide input to sustainability and physical security strategies.
- Lead Safety in Design efforts within your Region working with all stakeholders to the AirTrunk framework.
- Lead and coach a team of EHS professionals.
- Lead the incident and near miss management process to ensure continuous improvement through the implementation of corrective and preventative actions and development of Lessons Learned.
Requirements
- 10+ years in a safety leadership role with experience managing operations and contractors in high-hazard industries such construction, oil & gas, mining, or processing plants in APAC.
- Experience in the design and implementation of relevant company safety management systems.
- Very knowledgeable and experienced in EHS, risk management strategies and processes.
- A professional approach with persuasive skills in making things happen.
- Coaching experience and the ability to positively influence staff, management, and contractors.
- Good leadership skills, able to lead multi-disciplinary teams.
- Analytical, with abilities in research.
- Strong writing and data presentation skills.
