Your Opportunity as the Senior Manager, Customer Logistics

In this role, you will lead supply chain strategy and execution for key customer accounts, driving service, product flow, inventory management, cost efficiency, financial reconciliation, and customer program performance.

You will manage a multi-skilled team across order-to-cash, cost-to-serve, vendor-managed inventory, supply chain analysis, and cost management while serving as the primary supply chain contact for assigned customers.

Using customer insights and cross-functional collaboration, you will resolve issues, lead account reviews and strategic discussions, identify savings and mitigation opportunities, and develop solutions that improve service, reduce costs, grow volume, and strengthen competitive advantage.

Location: Orrville, Corporate Offices

Work Arrangements: Hybrid - onsite a minimum of 9 days a month primarily during core weeks as determined by the Company; maybe more as business need requires.

In this role you will:

  • Accountable for Supply Chain Cost to Serve and Penalty Fee Reporting. Provide internal updates on balances, trends, status, and action steps, coordinate penalty fee forecasting. Use data visualization tools to report results and trends. Enable team analysis, solutions, and recommendations across internal, commercial, and customer supply chains.

  • Manage customer inventory to meet days-of-supply and in-stock goals by analyzing demand, aligning with Sales, IBP, and Distribution, and improving fill rates and product flow from customer warehouses to stores.

  • Monitor and communicate key supply chain metrics and compliance programs; enable root-cause analysis and improvement plans when goals are not met.

  • Lead strategic and continuous improvement supply chain projects that increase efficiency, reduce cost, support sales, and deliver win-win solutions for Smucker and customer supply chains.

  • Understand upstream and downstream supply chain impacts across demand planning, forecasting, inventory, and execution.

  • Provide internal partners with customer operating model insights and partner with Sales, customer-facing teams, and CCB to support revenue recognition, go-to-market strategies, promotions, launches, and supply chain-enabled promotional goals.

  • Lead cross-functional supply chain projects by aligning priorities, timelines, participants, and quarterly progress reviews while driving customer-specific strategies that improve service and reduce penalty exposure.

  • Centralize penalty fee program documentation, evaluate new customer programs and financial liability, assess penalty fee policy options, and support customer P&L reviews through budgeting and performance management.

  • Enable the team to engage strategically with key customer accounts by using monitoring, analysis, and technical understanding of customer ordering and inventory systems to recommend efficient, cost-effective product flow.

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • At least 7 years of relevant supply chain business experience

  • Prior people management experience

  • Data analytics experience

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to lead, influence and drive consensus

  • Data Visualization Tool Experience

  • Effective communication skills
