Job Description Summary

The GE Vernova Hitachi (GVH) Configuration Management (CM) organization is responsible for ensuring that the physical and functional characteristics of nuclear products are consistent with requirements, design intent, and licensing bases throughout the product lifecycle. This organization transforms complex engineering requirements into actionable product definition, including Logical (BOM) product structures, product features, and design basis documentation.
Through the rigorous utilization of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, CM delivers high-quality, compliant product definition to project Partners, Global Supply Chain functions and Regulatory bodies.
This position is for the Engineering Manager for the GVH Configuration Management organization within the Nuclear Engineering team. The Manager will lead a team of CM engineers and specialists within the Governance & Configuration Management organization.

Job Description

  • Lead the Configuration Management (CM) organization responsible for product structure integrity and configuration control in a highly regulated nuclear environment.
  • Manage U.S.-based CM resources, including budget and headcount planning, to support New Plant Projects, Nuclear Fuels, and Services commitments.
  • Set organizational priorities, assign goals to team members, and lead performance reviews and development checkpoints.
  • Define and execute a multi-year vision for the CM organization aligned with ISO Systems Engineering, Product Line Engineering guidance, and modern ANSI-649C / NIRMA CM practices.
  • Lead and mentor global and cross-functional resources to ensure consistent execution of CM requirements across domestic and international programs.
  • Balance resource loading across nuclear programs and projects in partnership with engineering leaders and project management to support critical path delivery.
  • Oversee product structure, feature structure, and baseline management to ensure configurations remain within approved licensing and design bases.
  • Lead CM process governance and continuous improvement, including support for Nuclear’s Teamcenter PLM deployment and harmonization of processes to meet NQA-1 and 10 CFR 50 Appendix B requirements.
  • Partner with Systems Engineering, Discipline Engineering, Project Management, Licensing, and Quality to deliver integrated, compliant design solutions and ensure as-built and as-designed alignment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in engineering design, systems engineering, configuration management, or another highly regulated technical environment.
  • Minimum 4 years of leadership experience within an engineering or technical organization.
  • Strong knowledge of configuration management principles, including configuration identification, baseline management, change control, status accounting, and audit.
  • Demonstrated commitment to nuclear safety culture, regulatory compliance, and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of nuclear regulatory and quality requirements, including 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, NQA-1, and 10 CFR Part 21.
  • Strong knowledge of configuration management principles, including configuration identification, baseline management, change control, status accounting, and audit.
  • Demonstrated commitment to nuclear safety culture, regulatory compliance, and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
  • Experience with governance, development, tendering, and OTR execution processes within GE Vernova Hitachi or similar operating models.
  • Expertise with CM and enterprise toolsets such as Enovia/3DEXPERIENCE, Teamcenter, SAP/Powermax, and standards management tools.
  • CMII, CMPIC, or similar configuration management certification or formal professional training.
  • Strong organizational, facilitation, and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate complex configuration topics to senior leadership and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams through digital transformation and process change in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with CAD and ERP systems, including Autodesk Inventor and SAP/Powermax, as they relate to product structures, traceability, and configuration control.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $134,400.00 and $257,600.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
