A DAY IN A LIFE

As a startup, you can expect your days to be pretty varied. Multitasking is normal, and sometimes, your skills or natural talents will be leveraged to support other business priorities. That said, the bulk of your working hours should involve you having to:

1. Strategic Pricing Transformation & Guidelines

• Strategic Capability & Maturity: Drive the transformation of the team to advance its maturity in managing strategic pricing
• Rate Governance: Establish clear pricing frameworks, discount matrix guidelines, and spot rate guardrails to enable sales velocity while protecting business margins.
• Team Development: Lead, mentor, and elevate a high-performing team of Pricing Analysts and Executives, building strategic pricing capability and operational excellence.
• Stakeholder Management: Partner with Revenue Management, Sales, and Finance to ensure pricing guidelines align with capacity, demand, and P&L target objectives.

2. Rate Architecture, Lifecycle & Execution

• Published, Spot & Contractual Frameworks: Define structural pricing methodologies across contractual, ad-hoc, spot, and published rate tiers to ensure consistent execution network-wide.
• Agile Deployment: Oversee the systematic implementation, loading, and maintenance of all rate types within core operational systems with zero defect execution.
• Market Benchmarking: Continuously analyze market rate movements, competitor positioning, and rate card structures to ensure Teleport remains highly competitive across Southeast Asia.

3. Ancillary & Cost-Linked Pricing

• Surcharge Governance: Manage, structure, and update all network "Other Charges" (Fuel, Security, Terminal Handling, etc.) according to defined policy.
• Cost-to-Price Synchronization: Build dynamic mechanisms to ensure underlying cost changes (vendor increases, fuel volatility, regulatory fees) are rapidly passed through into surcharges to safeguard net margins.
• Pricing Innovation: Design and introduce standardized pricing structures for new ancillary services and value-added offerings

4. Strategic Revenue Integrity & Systems

• Systemic Rating Audit: Lead high-level governance and auditing of Air Waybills (AWB) to guarantee total compliance with set pricing guidelines and surcharge rules.
• Root Cause Mitigation: Collaborate with Systems, Tech, and Finance teams to address root causes of misrating errors and deploy systemic, automated solutions.
• Pricing Digitization: Partner with Tech teams to build automated rate calculators, streamlined spot pricing tools, and scalable pricing engines

Requirements

• Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in Pricing, Rate Governance, or Commercial Logistics (Airlines, Cargo, Express preferred), with at least 5+ years in a senior managerial capacity.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
• Pricing Expertise: Experience in developing spot rate guidelines, contractual rate structures, market rate cards, and pass-through surcharge mechanisms.
• Data & Digital Mastery: Proficiency in Excel and BI tools; ability to manage high-volume data without losing sight of the "big picture’.
• Transformational Leadership: Proven track record of maturing process-heavy teams into strategic pricing partners and establishing high-governance rate guidelines.
