The Data & Analytics team for ViX Streaming is seeking a Senior Looker Developer to help drive the next generation of data visualization and self-service analytics. In this role, you will partner closely with internal data engineering and analytics teams, as well as cross-functional enterprise data engineering stakeholders, to design, build, and optimize high-impact dashboards and LookML models that power decision-making across the streaming organization.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY (RESPONSIBILITIES)

·         Design, build, and maintain reliable, insightful, and visually compelling Looker dashboards

·         Establish and enforce coding standards and style guidelines for LookML development

·         Enhance and optimize existing Looker reports and dashboards

·         Refine and restructure LookML projects to support evolving reporting needs

·         Use LookML parameters and UX best practices to improve the end-user experience

·         Ensure ongoing project health by monitoring performance, validating content, and performing audits and unit testing

·         Implement persistent derived tables, caching strategies, and refresh policies to ensure data accuracy and performance

·         Configure and manage data security, including access filters and field/row-level permissions

·         Partner with data engineers to define optimal data structures and solutions

·         Train, mentor, and support team members in Looker best practices and components

YOU HAVE (REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE)

·         8+ years of experience in data visualization development (5+ years in Looker)

·         Looker LookML Developer certification is a plus

·         Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience)

·         Demonstrated expert-level proficiency in Looker and LookML

·         Strong SQL expertise and solid analytical skills

·         Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and data solutions

·         Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and debugging skills

·         Familiarity with BigQuery

·         Experience with Git and CI/CD deployment workflows
