Ready to be part of the experience?

Now, let’s discuss this role and what you will do to help achieve Fever’s mission.

About the role

As a Senior Hardware Engineer, you'll own the complete lifecycle of Fever's hardware solutions—from concept and design to production, deployment, and continuous improvement.

You'll work closely with Product, Software Engineering, Operations, Procurement, and external manufacturers to build reliable hardware products that perform flawlessly in demanding live-event environments.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical ownership, practical engineering skills, and the ability to make sound design decisions balancing reliability, cost, manufacturability, and scalability.

What you'll do

Own the full hardware development lifecycle

  • Lead the design and development of hardware products from concept through production and post-launch support.

  • Design electronic solutions using microcontrollers and Single Board Computers (Raspberry Pi, Khadas, or similar).

  • Build prototypes, validate solutions, and prepare products for mass production.

  • Continuously improve existing hardware based on operational feedback and customer needs.

Design reliable products for production

  • Design and review electronic architectures, schematics, PCB layouts, and component selection.

  • Manage Bills of Materials (BOMs), component sourcing, second-source strategies, and obsolescence planning.

  • Define manufacturing requirements and support industrialization processes.

  • Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers throughout production.

Ensure product quality

  • Define validation plans, testing protocols, and acceptance criteria.

  • Perform hardware debugging using laboratory equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, multimeter, power supplies, etc.).

  • Diagnose production and field issues, identify root causes, and implement permanent solutions.

  • Ensure products comply with applicable European regulations (CE, RoHS, EMC, Radio Directives where applicable).

Build scalable hardware operations

  • Plan production capacity according to business needs and event schedules.

  • Monitor inventories and component availability.

  • Evaluate suppliers and packaging solutions.

  • Participate in budgeting and cost optimization decisions.

Document and share knowledge

  • Create technical documentation, manufacturing guides, repair manuals, FAQs, and operational procedures.

  • Maintain design documentation, firmware versions, BOMs, and change history.

  • Train junior engineers on production and repair processes.

  • Act as the technical reference for hardware-related incidents.

About you

We're looking for someone who combines strong electronics knowledge with product ownership and practical engineering experience.

Required experience

  • 5+ years of professional experience designing and developing electronic hardware products.

  • At least 3 years working on products that reached mass production and real-world deployment.

  • Demonstrated experience across the complete product lifecycle:

    • Product specification

    • Electronic design

    • Prototyping

    • Validation

    • Industrialization

    • Production support

  • Ability to clearly explain and defend technical decisions made throughout previous projects.
  • Availability to travel occasionally to support deployments, suppliers, or other business needs.
  • Availability to participate in an on-call rotation, including occasional weekends, to support critical hardware incidents during live events.

Technical skills

  • Strong knowledge of digital and analog electronics.

  • Experience working with embedded systems based on Linux and/or Android.

  • Experience integrating Raspberry Pi, Khadas or similar SBCs.

  • Familiarity with common communication interfaces:

    • UART

    • SPI

    • I²C

    • USB

    • Ethernet

    • Wi-Fi

    • Bluetooth/BLE

  • Experience using laboratory equipment for debugging and validation.

  • Experience with SMD and through-hole soldering.

  • Strong understanding of component selection, BOM management and supply-chain constraints.

  • Knowledge of European electronic product regulations (CE, RoHS, EMC, Radio).

Education

  • Degree in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automation Engineering or equivalent.

  • Candidates with higher vocational education (FP) will also be considered if they demonstrate significantly more than five years of relevant professional experience and a strong portfolio.

Languages

  • Spanish: Native or C1.

  • English: B2/C1 for technical documentation and international suppliers.

Nice to have

  • PCB design using Altium, KiCad or Eagle.

  • Firmware development in C/C++.

  • Python scripting.

  • CAD and mechanical enclosure design.

  • 3D printing.

  • IP protection and impact-resistant product design.

  • Experience working with Asian manufacturers.

  • Battery-powered devices and power management.

  • RFID/NFC technologies.

  • Barcode and QR readers.

  • Thermal printing systems.

  • LoRaWAN, Meshtastic or other IoT communication technologies.

  • Previous experience mentoring junior engineers.

  • Experience in events, ticketing or access-control hardware.

What we're looking for

You'll thrive in this role if you:

  • Take ownership from concept to production.

  • Make pragmatic technical decisions balancing quality, cost and delivery.

  • Feel comfortable working under pressure in business-critical environments.

  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both engineering and non-technical teams.

  • Enjoy collaborating across Hardware, Software, Product, Operations and Procurement.

  • Are curious, hands-on, and continuously looking for better solutions.

Portfolio & project experience

As part of the hiring process, candidates will be asked to present at least three relevant hardware projects demonstrating their contribution to products that reached production.

For each project, we expect to understand:

  • The business or user problem being solved.

  • Your specific role and responsibilities.

  • Technical architecture and design decisions.

  • Evidence of your work (schematics, BOMs, test reports, product photos or similar, anonymized if necessary).

  • Measurable outcomes (production volume, quality improvements, costs, reliability, etc.).

During the final stages of the process, we'll also request professional references for at least two of these projects (with your prior consent).

  • Attractive compensation package

  • Opportunity to have a real impact in one of the fastest-growing global entertainment companies.
