Join a Teledyne team developing industrial machine vision camera systems used in demanding applications around the world. As a Senior FPGA Engineer, you will play a key role in bringing advanced camera platforms from concept to production, owning critical FPGA subsystems that directly impact performance, cost, and product success.
If you enjoy solving complex hardware design challenges, working close to the product, and seeing your work ship in real-world systems, this is an opportunity to make a visible technical impact on a small, collaborative engineering team.

What you'll do

  • Own FPGA subsystem design from requirements through production release.
  • Develop RTL for sensor interfaces, image processing pipelines, host interfaces, and control infrastructure.
  • Optimize designs for area, resource utilization, power, and cost.
  • Create constraints, perform timing closure, and analyze clock domain crossings.
  • Define FPGA/firmware interfaces, register maps, and memory architectures.
  • Develop verification plans, simulation environments, and testbenches.
  • Lead hardware bring-up and debug of prototype boards and interfaces.
  • Investigate production and field issues and drive root-cause resolution.
  • Collaborate with firmware, hardware, sensor, test, and product teams.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to FPGA development processes and reuse.

What you need

  • Required: Strong analytical skills, ownership mindset, and collaborative communication.
  • Required: 7+ years of FPGA development using VHDL and/or Verilog/System Verilog.
  • Required: Experience with simulation, synthesis, timing closure, and FPGA implementation.
  • Required: Proven ability to optimize designs for small, cost-effective FPGA devices.
  • Required: Experience with Vivado, Quartus, Libero, or similar toolchains.
  • Required: Hardware bring-up and lab debugging using FPGA debug and test equipment.
  • Required: Scripting experience with Tcl and/or Python.
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • Advantage: Machine vision, imaging systems, camera interfaces, image processing, embedded firmware, or CI workflows.

What we offer

  • Meaningful work on real-world machine vision products.
  • End-to-end ownership from specification to shipped product.
  • Collaboration with experienced multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Opportunities to influence platform architecture and technology direction.
  • Exposure to advanced FPGA, imaging, and embedded systems challenges.
  • The stability and technical depth of a Teledyne business.
