Job Description

Fugro Land Site Screening & Consulting provides geotechnical, geophysical, environmental, and Geo-data consulting services help clients make informed decisions throughout the project lifecycle, from initial site selection through design and construction. By combining site characterization, geo-risk assessments, ground modeling, and digital analytics, the team identifies potential constraints and opportunities early, reducing uncertainty, minimizing risk, and helping clients deliver safer, more sustainable, and cost-effective infrastructure and development projects.

The Senior Engineer provides geotechnical engineering support across projects of moderate to complex scope, applying technical judgment and established engineering practices to interpret data, develop solutions, and support project and client outcomes. The role contributes to field investigation, analysis, design, proposals, reporting, client engagement, and knowledge sharing while supporting safe, high-quality, and commercially effective project delivery.

Base Salary range for this job opportunity is $125,000 to $155,000 per year

  • Monitor project schedules, milestones, and resource allocation to ensure successful project execution.
  • Support project execution, including coordination of field exploration, assignment of laboratory testing, technical analysis, proposal preparation, and report development.
  • Deliver assignments on time, within budget expectations, and to the required quality standards.
  • Provide geotechnical advice across specialized technical disciplines and develop practical client solutions by interpreting site investigation data in context.
  • Apply standard practices, techniques, and engineering judgment to analyze data, identify discrepancies, and support sound technical recommendations.
  • Perform assigned project tasks accurately and efficiently, following established methods, procedures, and project requirements.
  • Ensure accordance with company standards, industry standards, QHSSE policy and local regulations.

Job Requirements

  • Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.
  • Have a minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in geotechnical engineering consulting, including site investigations, geotechnical analyses, and report preparation.
  • Experience interpreting subsurface data and developing geotechnical recommendations for infrastructure, energy, industrial, or transportation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of soil and rock mechanics, foundation engineering, seismic hazards, earthwork engineering, and construction observation.
  • Professional Civil Engineer (PE) license in California required. Geotechnical Engineer (GE) license preferred or expected within a defined timeframe
  • Experience preparing technical reports, proposals, specifications, and client deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage individual project tasks and support multiple concurrent projects.
  • Experience coordinating with clients, contractors, laboratories, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Business and financial acumen and strategic thinking stills. Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management ability.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in technical writing, technical review, and preparation of professional engineering reports, proposals, and client deliverables.
  • Experience leading operational excellence initiatives and managing project financial performance
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary and matrixed organizations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development, learning, and adaptation to changing business, regulatory, and technical requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other business, project management, and engineering software applications relevant to the position.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
