About the Role
As a Senior Endpoint Specialist, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, securing, and optimising modern endpoint management solutions for Datacom. Acting as a senior technical specialist, you will provide expertise across endpoint engineering, device management, endpoint security, automation, and modern workplace technologies.
You will work across Datacom’s internal environment, leading the implementation and support of enterprise endpoint solutions while providing technical leadership and guidance to project teams, operational teams, and Datacom staff. This role combines deep technical expertise with customer engagement, continuous improvement, and technical mentorship.
You will be responsible for helping Datacom modernise endpoint platforms, improve security posture, enhance user experience, and establish sustainable endpoint management practices that support both current and future business requirements.

What You'll Do
At the moment, as a Senior Endpoint Specialist, you will be focused on:
- Designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise endpoint management solutions across Datacom’s environment.
- Leading endpoint engineering activities across Windows 11, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, and modern device management platforms.
- Developing and maintaining endpoint standards, operating system baselines, configuration policies, and endpoint governance frameworks.
- Managing endpoint lifecycle activities including device provisioning, operating system deployment, feature updates, and hardware refresh programmes.
- Implementing and supporting Windows Autopilot deployment and modern workplace onboarding solutions.
- Managing device compliance, configuration management, and endpoint security controls in accordance with organisational and customer security requirements.
- Creating and maintaining PowerShell scripts and automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and service delivery outcomes.
- Packaging, deploying, and maintaining enterprise applications across managed endpoints.
- Providing Tier 3 technical escalation support for complex endpoint, operating system, application, and device management issues.
- Leading technical investigations, root cause analysis activities, and problem management initiatives.
- Participating in technology evaluations, proof-of-concepts, testing, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
- Supporting projects, migrations, deployments, and transformation programmes involving endpoint technologies.
- Developing technical documentation, deployment standards, operational procedures, and architecture artefacts.
- Working closely with Datacom teams to understand business requirements and translate them into practical endpoint solutions.
- Acting as the technical SME and service owner for:
- Meeting rooms and collaboration technologies.
- Microsoft Teams Rooms, audiovisual, and video conferencing solutions.
- Kiosk and shared-device platforms.
- Executive and VIP technology support.
- Online events, webinars, and presentations.
- Enterprise printing services.
- Providing strategic guidance and technical consultation on endpoint management, workspace modernisation, security, and automation technologies.
- Contributing to endpoint roadmaps, technical strategy, service development, and innovation initiatives.
- Mentoring engineers and sharing technical knowledge across Datacom teams.
- Ensuring work is completed in accordance with service levels, security requirements, and change management processes.
- Building effective relationships with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Promoting safe work practices and adhering to Datacom Health and Safety policies.

What You'll Bring
Required Experience
- 5+ years' experience in endpoint engineering, device management, workspace technology, professional services, or managed services environments.
- Advanced expertise in Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, and modern endpoint management technologies.
- Strong experience supporting and managing enterprise Windows 10 and Windows 11 environments.
- Proven experience implementing and supporting Windows Autopilot and modern provisioning solutions.
- Extensive knowledge of endpoint security best practices.
- Experience implementing and managing compliance policies, configuration profiles, endpoint security baselines, and device governance controls.
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation capabilities.
- Experience managing operating system deployment, servicing, patching, and feature update lifecycles.
- Experience supporting enterprise application deployment and lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of endpoint security frameworks, vulnerability management, and device hardening practices.
- Experience troubleshooting complex endpoint-related technical issues within large-scale environments.
- Ability to analyse technical problems and deliver practical, customer-focused solutions.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and customer relationship management skills.
- Experience working within structured change management, service management, and operational support frameworks.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.

- Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate.
- Microsoft Certified: Security Administrator Associate.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
- Experience with Microsoft Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM).
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID.
- Experience with Microsoft Defender XDR capabilities.
- Experience with Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop.
- Experience implementing or supporting ACSC Essential Eight controls.
- Experience with Microsoft Graph API integration and automation.
- Experience with Power Platform automation and workflow solutions.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 services and workplace technologies.
- Experience working within large enterprise or managed services environments.
- Experience contributing to technical strategy, architecture reviews, and technology roadmap development.
- Experience supporting endpoint programmes within highly regulated or security-conscious environments.
- Knowledge of ITIL-based service management practices.
