  • Develop custom PCBs from concept through schematic design, component selection, bring-up, validation, and release.
  • Integrate power supplies, motion and temperature controls, optical metrology instruments, safety circuits, and industrial sensors.
  • Define electrical architecture and produce schematics, wiring and cable drawings, panel drawings, bills of materials, and test documentation.
  • Build, test, and troubleshoot prototypes, fixtures, and production-intent systems.
  • Diagnose issues across electrical hardware, firmware, software, optics, motion, thermal control, and system interfaces.
  • Develop or modify firmware, HDL, scripts, drivers, and APIs for device control and testing.
  • Select components and suppliers based on performance, reliability, availability, manufacturability, and cost.
  • Own assigned systems from prototype through release, manufacturing support, and failure analysis.
  • Communicate technical risks, tradeoffs, and progress through design reviews and project execution.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering, manufacturing, applications, service, and supplier teams.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers, technicians, and manufacturing personnel.

Required Qualifications

  • BSEE or a related field with 7 or more years of relevant experience; MSEE with 5 or more years; or equivalent education and experience.

  • Expertise in at least one relevant area, such as low-noise analog, mixed-signal electronics, embedded controls, precision instrumentation, industrial controls, motion, thermal control, or power systems.
  • Experience with board-level circuit design, PCB bring-up, laboratory testing, and hardware debugging.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and electromechanical systems.
  • Ability to produce clear electrical drawings, design documentation, and test reports.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions with limited direction.
  • Strong written, verbal, and cross-functional communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SEMI standards, semiconductor equipment, metrology, precision automation, scientific instrumentation, or sensitive sensors.
  • Experience with grounding, shielding, filtering, isolation, signal integrity, and EMI mitigation.
  • Experience integrating optical instruments, motion systems, temperature controls, industrial sensors, or safety circuits.
  • Familiarity with embedded firmware, FPGAs, microcontrollers, programmable logic, and industrial communication protocols.
  • Experience with electrical panels, equipment wiring, regulatory compliance, design for manufacturing, and design for test.
  • Experience working with PCB, cable, panel, or equipment suppliers.

Attributes for Success

  • Prioritizes safety, quality, and compliance throughout the design lifecycle.
  • Broad technical curiosity and willingness to work outside a single specialty.
  • Strong engineering judgment and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to bring structure to ambiguous or evolving requirements.
  • Comfort working at both circuit and system levels.
  • Collaborative approach with strong ownership and follow-through.
