Hourglass’ digital environment is growing quickly, and we’re looking for a strategic, growth-obsessed leader to own our acquisition marketing engine and the team behind it. The Senior Director, Growth Marketing sets the strategy, budget, and org structure for Hourglass’ global growth marketing function — spanning brand and performance media, digital ad creative, and Retailer.com strategy — while directly leading and developing a team. This is a role for an operator who can set a multi-year vision and still get into the weeds when it matters, and who is energized by building both a business and a team.
The ideal candidate has already run a growth or performance marketing function end-to-end and is ready to build and lead a high-performing team. You bring executive presence, translating ambiguous business goals into a clear strategic narrative for senior leadership, while staying close enough to the data and the work to coach your team credibly. Deep experience with paid media strategy and measurement — including MMM, MTA, and incrementality testing — is expected, along with comfort overseeing digital ad creative production and a track record of directly managing marketers.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Own the strategy, budget, and roadmap for Hourglass’ global growth marketing function — spanning paid media, Retailer.com digital strategy, and digital ad creative — setting targets and resourcing in partnership with senior leadership.
- Define and lead upper- and mid-funnel brand media strategy — across channels like CTV, OOH, social, and affiliate — ensuring investment builds long-term brand equity while fueling acquisition and performance goals.
- Directly manage and develop a team of marketers and creative talent, providing coaching, career development, and performance management, and building bench strength as the team scales.
- Own the full media budget — forecasting investment, defending spend against CAC and ROAS targets, and reallocating dynamically across channels and campaigns based on performance.
- Own the total measurement framework — Across MMM, MTA, and incrementality testing — leveraging insights and sales data to inform media mix decisions and uncover whitespace for growth.
- Set the strategic agenda for experimentation and channel expansion, evaluating emerging platforms and AI-powered tools, and translating results into scalable best practice across the team.
- Shape creative strategy through media insights, ensuring storytelling is optimized for platform behavior and performance signals, and sharing creative best practices to uplevel the team’s paid asset quality.
- Serve as the lead growth marketing voice in cross-functional planning with Creative, Ecommerce, Trade Marketing, and Finance, ensuring paid media, site experience, and retailer strategy operate as one cohesive growth engine.
- Partner with the VP of Ecommerce and Creative Director to keep paid ad creative visually consistent with the on-site experience, ensuring a cohesive customer journey from first ad exposure through on-site conversion.
- Partner with global and regional trade marketing teams to determine strategic Retailer.com support. Ensure the Hourglass brand experience is consistent everywhere it’s sold and that all media spend has omnichannel impact.
- Partner with retail and consumer engagement teams to build holistic media systems across paid, owned, and earned channels, with awareness, consideration, and brand favorability KPIs systematically monitored and linked to business outcomes.
- Present growth marketing performance, insights, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership, translating data into a clear point of view on where to invest next.
- Build and scale team processes, reporting standards, and org structure that hold up as the team and the digital business grow.
YOU'LL LOVE THIS JOB IF:
- You are STRATEGIC: You can translate ambiguous business goals into a clear growth strategy and org plan, and you know how to defend it with data.
- You are A NATURAL LEADER: You genuinely enjoy coaching and developing people, and you know how to delegate without losing visibility.
- You are ANALYTICAL: You are fluent in the numbers — from MMM to MTA to incrementality — and use them to build conviction with your team, with Creative, and with senior stakeholders.
- You are CREATIVE: You are forward-thinking and push your team and partners to raise the bar on both media and design.
- You are A STRONG COMMUNICATOR: You can flex your message for a 1:1 with a direct report or a readout with senior leadership.
- You are AGILE: You adapt well to changing priorities and can reprioritize a roadmap without losing sight of the bigger picture.
- You are PASSIONATE ABOUT BEAUTY: You are eager to build a growth function that reflects the Hourglass brand and its community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in growth or performance marketing, with demonstrated ownership of strategy, budget, and team leadership — not just execution. Experience in luxury or beauty DTC ecommerce is a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of both brand and performance media channels, including CTV, OOH, social, audio/podcasts, paid search, and paid social.
- Working knowledge of measurement solutions such as MMM, MTA, and incrementality testing, and comfort using them to guide media mix and investment decisions.
- Proven track record directly managing and developing a team of marketers and/or creative professionals.
- Track record owning a media budget of meaningful scale, with accountability for CAC, LTV, and ROAS targets.
- Strong working fluency across paid social, paid search, and analytics platforms (Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager, Google Ads, Google Analytics or comparable); comfort overseeing digital ad creative production even without being a hands-on designer.
- Strong executive presence — comfortable building and presenting strategic narratives to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments and is equally comfortable setting strategy and rolling up their sleeves.
- Must be able to work from the Corporate Office at least 60% of the time.
