About ZEISS Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology

Enabler of smaller, more powerful and energyefficient microchips

Work where tomorrow is made.

Around 80% of all microchips worldwide are manufactured using ZEISS technologies. As the heart of every electronically controlled system, they are indispensable in our daily lives – whether in smartphones, smart homes or smart factories. ZEISS is a technology leader in semiconductor manufacturing equipment. With ultraprecise lithography optics, photomask systems and process control solutions, ZEISS enables the production of ever smaller, more powerful and more energyefficient microchips – shaping the age of micro and nanoelectronics with its innovations.

Your Role

To manufacture highperformance semiconductor chips using microlithography, we develop the world’s most advanced projection and illumination systems. In our department we develop the mechatronic solutions that play a key role in these systems.

In your role as Senior Development Engineer Mechatronics with Focus on Dynamics and Control Engineering (f/m/x), you will:

  • Develop, evaluate and document mechatronic system concepts for projection and illumination optics in microlithography systems, with a focus on dynamics and control engineering

  • Perform modeling, simulation and analysis of highly complex mechatronic systems and develop and evaluate control algorithms for fast and extremely precise positioning of precision mechanical components

  • Derive and negotiate specifications and budgets for components from your results

  • Ensure the realization and testing of prototypes and evaluate the test results

  • Be part of an interdisciplinary team and work closely in development with customers (internal and external) as well as development partners

Your Profile

  • Many years of professional experience in the development of complex mechatronic systems, ideally in the semiconductor industry

  • Strong expertise in analysis of control loops (frequency and time domain) and dynamic analysis of mechanical systems (MBS, FEM, structural dynamics, modeling methods), experience in validation of dynamic models and very good MATLAB and/or Python skills

  • Ideally, knowledge in related disciplines such as actuators/sensors, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, optical engineering as well as systems engineering

  • Strong technical leadership skills with a proven track record in decisionmaking, delegation, stakeholder management, steering teams and developing team members

  • An independent and systematic way of working, very good organizational and communication skills and strong proactivity and assertiveness

  • Enjoyment of working as part of an interdisciplinary team in a highly dynamic environment, combined with a high level of commitment and performance orientation

  • Excellent university degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Technical Cybernetics or a comparable field of study

  • Very good English skills, both written and spoken; good German skills are an advantage
