About the Role:

The US Casualty/Professional Facultative Department of Everest Reinsurance Company is looking for a Senior Cyber/Errors and Omission Facultative Underwriter to join our NYC or Warren NJ office.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• You will actively manage and drive business with a focus on Cyber and E&O business (A&E, Misc., Lawyers, Agents/Brokers, and Real Estate/Title) with some D&O (public/private)
• Analyze new business for risk profitability as determined by a review of underwriting, claims and financial data.
• Underwrite renewal business according to current underwriting approach and philosophy in a service-oriented environment.
• Develop and maintain positive business relationships with ceding company underwriters and reinsurance intermediaries, including solicitation of new business opportunities.
• Assist in the development and coordination of production and marketing efforts.
• Collaborate with all functional areas of the company including claims and accounting to support company objectives.
• Assess and communicate to the Everest Reinsurance Underwriting Team and Senior Management competitive factors in the marketplace as they relate to our corporate underwriting portfolio.
• Work under minimal supervision
• Be willing to travel

Qualifications, Education & Experience:

• BA/BS degree; advanced degree a plus
• Minimum of 5 years of Professional Liability underwriting experience, demonstrating subject matter expertise and strong contacts within the industry

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies: 

• Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to provide concise and cogent reports, referrals, and summaries to senior management
• Excellent analytical and computer skills, with a demonstrated ability to use data analytics and make appropriate conclusions based upon results
• Strong interpersonal and social skills
• In-depth knowledge of the US insurance and reinsurance markets
• Solid negotiation, oral and written communication skills
• Ability to maintain excellent relations with brokers and ceding company underwriters/managers and provide superior service
• Team oriented and ability to work effectively with peers
• Strong prioritization skills to meet daily demand and deadlines within a fast paced, team-oriented, and high intensity work environment.

The base salary range for this position is $119,000 - $150,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location. All offers include access to a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
