Job Description:

Parsons is seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Construction Superintendent to support our role as the Main Construction Manager (MCM) for remediation and construction activities at the Faro Mine Complex. In this role, you will provide senior field leadership across multiple subcontracted work packages, ensuring that work is executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project scope, schedule, quality, and environmental requirements.

Working in a remote and challenging northern environment, the Senior Construction Superintendent will serve as a key site position for Parsons, overseeing daily field execution, coordinating subcontractors and site interfaces, and supporting the successful delivery of complex construction activities at the Faro Mine Complex.

This position requires travel to the Faro Mine Complex and is based on a 2-week on-site / 2-week off-site rotation.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Provide overall field leadership for construction execution across multiple subcontracted work packages at the Faro Mine Complex.

  • Represent Parsons on site as the MCM lead related to construction activities, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.

  • Oversee daily construction site operations and monitor subcontractor performance for compliance with scope, schedule, quality, safety, and environmental expectations.

  • Coordinate subcontractors, field personnel, vendors, equipment, and site logistics to support construction sequencing and execution.

  • Work closely with project management, engineering, procurement, and client representatives to ensure alignment between field activities and overall project objectives.

  • Identify field constraints, interface risks, and execution issues early, and work collaboratively to resolve them before they affect cost, schedule, or productivity.

  • Review drawings, plans, specifications, and work package requirements, and clearly communicate expectations to subcontractors and field teams, as and when required.

  • Assist in monitoring progress against project schedules and support recovery planning where required to maintain project milestones and delivery targets.

  • Enforce Parsons’ health, safety, and environmental requirements and promote a strong, proactive safety culture across all site activities.

  • Lead field-level quality assurance and quality control oversight to ensure construction activities are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, inspection and test plans, and project quality requirements.

  • Verify that subcontractors are implementing required quality processes, inspections, testing, documentation, and deficiency tracking in accordance with project standards and contract requirements.

  • Conduct regular site inspections and field reviews to confirm compliance with quality standards, design intent, regulatory requirements, and permit conditions, and ensure deficiencies are identified, documented, and addressed in a timely manner.

  • Coordinate with project quality personnel, engineering, and subcontractors to resolve non-conformances, clarify technical requirements, and support corrective actions where needed.

  • Maintain accurate daily reports, site records, progress updates, and field documentation.

  • Review and support completion of quality-related records, including inspection reports, turnover documentation, deficiency lists, and construction completion records.

  • Participate in site coordination meetings, subcontractor meetings, and construction planning sessions.

  • Support workforce planning, construction readiness, site access coordination, and material and equipment flow to maintain continuity of work.

  • Ensure construction work is carried out in accordance with regulatory requirements, site-specific permits, environmental obligations, and company procedures.

  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with the client, subcontractors, project teams, local and Indigenous communities, and other external stakeholders.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in construction-related field (or equivalent construction-related work experience), and typically 15+ years of experience in field construction is required. Experience in the construction of large civil/structural and/or industrial projects at domestic and/or foreign locations is preferred.

  • Significant experience in a General Superintendent, Senior Superintendent, or senior field construction leadership role.

  • Strong background in civil, mining, heavy industrial, infrastructure, or remote northern construction projects.

  • Demonstrated experience overseeing and coordinating multiple subcontractors and work fronts within a construction management environment.

  • Strong understanding of construction execution, work packaging, sequencing, scheduling, field productivity, quality control, and contractor oversight.

  • Proven ability to lead field teams in remote and logistically complex project environments.

  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements, with a demonstrated commitment to safe and compliant work execution.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, technical documents, and contract requirements.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience preparing and reviewing daily reports, progress updates, field documentation, and construction records.

  • Proficiency with construction reporting systems and standard project documentation tools.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Experience working in northern or remote construction environments.

  • Knowledge of Yukon construction standards, permitting, and environmental compliance requirements.

  • Safety certifications such as WHMIS, CSTS, First Aid, or equivalent.

  • Experience on government, transportation, industrial, mining, resource-sector, or heavy civil projects.
