Overview 

We are seeking a Senior Construction Manager to join our team in Houston, TX.

Senior Construction Manager – Water Infrastructure Construction Management & Inspection is responsible for on-site oversight of construction activities, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with design intent, contract requirements, and the client’s objectives. This role acts as the client’s representative in the field, coordinating closely with contractors and engineers while maintaining continuous site presence. The Construction Manager plays a critical role in protecting the client’s interests by monitoring quality, schedule, and compliance throughout all phases of construction.

Your role 

Construction Oversight:

• Provide full-time, on-site management of construction activities from mobilization through project closeout.
• Monitor contractor performance to ensure work is completed in accordance with plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Enforce adherence to project schedules, identifying delays and working with contractors to implement corrective actions.
• Conduct daily site observations and maintain detailed field reports documenting progress, issues, and activities.

Contractor Coordination:

• Serve as the primary point of contact on-site for all contractors and subcontractors.
• Coordinate construction activities to minimize conflicts and ensure efficient sequencing of work.
• Facilitate regular coordination meetings with contractors to review schedule, safety, and performance.
• Review contractor submittals, RFIs, and work plans in coordination with engineering teams.

Engineering Coordination:

• Act as the liaison between field construction teams and design engineers.
• Ensure that construction work aligns with engineering drawings, specifications, and approved submittals.
• Support resolution of technical issues, field conflicts, and design clarifications in a timely manner.
• Coordinate inspections and verify that engineering requirements are properly implemented in the field.

Client Representation:

• Represent the client’s interests at all times, ensuring that project objectives, quality standards, and budget considerations are upheld.
• Provide transparent and accurate communication to the client regarding construction progress, risks, and issues.
• Participate in client meetings, site walks, and progress reviews.
• Escalate critical issues and provide recommendations for resolution.

Quality & Compliance:

• Inspect work to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Coordinate and witness testing, inspections, and commissioning activities.
• Identify non-conforming work and ensure prompt corrective actions are taken.
• Maintain thorough documentation for quality assurance and compliance tracking.

Safety Management:

• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on-site.
• Monitor contractor compliance with safety plans, OSHA regulations, and site-specific requirements.
• Participate in safety meetings and incident investigations as needed.

About you 

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 10 years of construction management experience, preferably in heavy civil, marine, facility, or infrastructure projects.

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Excellent coordination and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, field environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with contractors, engineers, and clients.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accountability and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CM experience with large diameter pipe (60+ inches) and / or pump station experience.
• OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training.
• Professional certifications such as CCM (Certified Construction Manager) or PMP are a plus.
• Experience with public sector projects and regulatory compliance.
• PE is preferred.

Work Environment:

• 100% on-site role.
• Regular exposure to active construction environments, including heavy equipment and marine conditions.
• May require extended hours, weekend work, or shift coordination depending on construction schedules.

Expected compensation range is between $220,000- $280,000 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
