Sandvik · Onsite · Sweden, Göteborg

Turn procurement insight into measurable business value by supporting category strategies, strengthening supplier performance, and helping secure competitive, reliable supply across assigned categories. You keep purchasing activities moving while contributing to continuous improvement and new product development.

About the job

Working across category and supplier management, sourcing, cost reduction and procurement data, you help deliver continuity of supply, cost competitiveness, and strong supplier performance. You’re the main escalation point for operational purchasing issues. You report to the Head of Procurement, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Category Lead for day-to-day activities.

Job responsibilities

  • Support category strategies and supplier management activities, resolving supply, quality, delivery and commercial issues.
  • Prepare, issue and evaluate RFQs, analyzing quotations and recommending sourcing options based on cost, quality, lead time, and risk.
  • Contribute to supplier negotiations with a focus on best-value total cost of ownership.
  • Manage procurement activities for new product development, coordinating sample-part orders and project timelines with Operational Buyers.
  • Lead cost-saving and value-engineering initiatives, track results, and identify opportunities for supplier consolidation and process improvement.
  • Maintain accurate supplier pricing and commercial data in the ERP system.

Location and flexibility

This position is flexible within Sweden.

Your profile

With proven purchasing, procurement, or sourcing experience, you understand how to balance commercial priorities with quality, delivery, and supply requirements. Strong analytical capabilities help you evaluate options, solve problems, and manage several priorities effectively. You’re collaborative, solutions-focused, and communicate clearly with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Your background includes:

  • Experience managing RFQs and supplier negotiations.
  • A strong understanding of supply chain and procurement processes.
  • Experience working with ERP or MRP systems.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification; significant relevant procurement and sourcing experience may be considered instead.
  • Fluency in English, verbally and in writing.

Experience from a manufacturing or engineering environment, exposure to NPD or NPI projects, and knowledge of category management principles are advantageous.
