Vast is developing next-generation space stations and space infrastructure using an incremental, hardware-rich, and low-cost approach. Vast is rapidly developing its multi-module Haven Station to ensure a continuous human presence in space for America and its allies, enabling advanced microgravity research and manufacturing, and unlocking a new space economy for government, corporate, and private customers. Haven Demo’s 2025 success made Vast the only operational commercial space station company to fly and operate its own spacecraft. Next, Haven-1 is expected to become the world’s first commercial space station when it launches in 2027, followed by additional Haven modules. Additionally, the company recently announced Vast Satellite, a high-power satellite product line leveraging its space station components and the heritage of Haven Demo.

The company plans to develop future habitats and systems for the Moon and Mars, dedicated space stations for government partners, and other crewed systems that will unlock the expanding long-term space economy.
Vast is looking for a versatile Senior Brand Designer reporting into the Senior Director, Brand Design, who can move across a wide range of projects and formats without losing quality or momentum. One week that might be event graphics, the next a presentation system, key art, or an RFP layout. This role is rooted in strong brand design craft and the range to apply it anywhere.
You'll work within an established design system alongside brand design, comms, events, and marketing ops, helping the brand show up consistently and at a high level across everything we produce. You should be as comfortable concepting as you are rolling up your sleeves on production when the work calls for it.
This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach, CA location.
Responsibilities:
- Design across a broad mix of projects: events, presentations, RFPs, illustrations, graphics, and key art
- Work within and extend our design system, proposing improvements where you see gaps
- Create high-quality layouts, typography systems, and visual assets
- Translate strategy and messaging into clear, compelling creative
- Jump into production work when priorities demand it, without treating it as someone else's job
- Maintain brand consistency and quality across all touchpoints
- Present work and rationale clearly to stakeholders
- Manage multiple fast-moving projects at once and keep the work orderly
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3-7 years of brand design experience across a variety of project types and formats
- Portfolio showing range: brand systems, campaigns, presentations, event or environmental graphics, and production-ready work
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), plus Figma and Google Workspace
- Strong typography, layout, color, and visual storytelling
- Ability to think conceptually and systematically
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Comfortable juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Agency or high-growth brand environment experience
- Experience contributing to or building brand guidelines and systems
- Versatile, you take on whatever the work requires, from concept to final files
- Craft-obsessed, sharp eye for detail and visual excellence
- Systems-aware, you work within a design system and make it stronger
- Self-directed and communicative, you keep work organized and people informed
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
- Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs unassisted
- Specific certifications, as appropriate
