Position Overview:

Ciena is the global leader in high-speed connectivity. We build adaptive networks to support exponential growth in bandwidth demand—empowering our customers, collaborators, and communities to thrive in the AI era.

We are seeking a data-driven and financially savvy PMO Analyst/Senior Analyst with 4–6 years of experience to join the APAC (Asia – Pacific) Services Team. In this role, you will go beyond administrative PMO tasks to serve as the financial backbone of our projects and spearhead long-term revenue forecasting for the region. The ideal candidate loves working with numbers, possesses a sharp analytical mind, and deeply understands project accounting, budgeting, and regional financial forecasting. You will collaborate closely with Project Managers and regional leadership to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and most importantly - on budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Long-Term Revenue Forecasting: Partner with regional leadership and finance teams to develop, maintain, and refine long-term revenue forecasting models specifically for the APAC region. Track pipeline, contract backlogs/balance and regional revenue trends to provide predictive multi-year revenue outlooks.
  • Project Financial Management: Own the end-to-end tracking of project budgets, actual spends, rolling forecasts, and cost-to-complete metrics.
  • Financial Analysis & Reporting: Analyse financial variances, identify margin leakages, and provide monthly/quarterly financial health reports and regional forecasting updates to senior leadership.
  • Data & Governance: Build and maintain complex financial models, predictive forecasting dashboards, and trackers (via Excel, Power BI, or PPM tools) to ensure regional data accuracy.
  • Resource & Capacity Tracking: Link resource utilization data to project financials to monitor profitability, burn rates, and their subsequent impact on localized revenue recognition.
  • Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify financial risks, pipeline delays, or scope creeps that impact the regional budget or long-term revenue targets, and work with Project Managers on corrective action plans.
  • Process Improvement: Streamline financial reporting templates, predictive forecasting tools, and financial governance processes within the PMO.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Experience: 4–6 years of dedicated experience within a PMO setup, with a heavy emphasis on project financial management and revenue forecasting.
  • Financial & Forecasting Acumen: Strong understanding of project financials, including capital vs. operational expenditure (CapEx/OpEx), long-term revenue modelling, revenue recognition principles, and margin analysis. Experience handling financial nuances within the APAC region is a strong plus.
  • Advanced Numerical Skills: Medium-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, advanced financial/predictive modelling, macros) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Tool Experience: Hands-on experience with ERP/financial systems (e.g. - Salesforce, Oracle).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Certifications (Preferred): PMP, CAPM, Prince2, or any relevant financial/analytical certifications are a strong plus.
