What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. You will support the design and delivery of Incentive Compensation (IC) solutions for Amgen’s commercial organization, partnering with internal teams and stakeholders across AIN and India. You will contribute to analysis, modeling, documentation, and implementation activities that help ensure IC plans are aligned to business objectives and delivered with quality and consistency.

This role supports end-to-end IC design and analytics, with a focus on translating business requirements into practical incentive plan solutions, conducting quantitative analysis, and helping stakeholders understand the potential impact of plan design choices.

Responsibilities

  • Incentive Compensation Design & Analytics: Support the development and implementation of IC plan design solutions aligned to business goals, field strategy, and approved governance requirements.
  • Scenario Modeling & Analysis: Develop and maintain scenario models to assess the impact of design choices such as measures, weightings, thresholds, targets, payout curves, and other plan mechanics.
  • Analytics & Insight Generation
    • Analyze historical performance, payout distributions, and field data to identify trends, outliers, and opportunities to improve incentive plan effectiveness.
    • Perform quantitative analyses and support financial modeling to evaluate potential plan changes, including sensitivity analyses and cost implications.
    • Support benchmarking and research on incentive compensation practices, industry trends, and relevant market insights to inform design recommendations.
  • Operational Excellence and Delivery:
    • Support end-to-end execution of IC design deliverables, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, quality, and adherence to established processes and governance standards.
    • Maintain clear and complete documentation of assumptions, methodologies, calculations, decisions, and approvals to support traceability and audit readiness.
    • Partner with IC operations, technology, data, and business stakeholders to translate approved plan designs into implementable requirements and support testing and issue resolution.
    • Develop and maintain data inputs, analysis files, and supporting materials used in IC design, and investigate discrepancies in partnership with relevant stakeholders.
  • Automation & AI:
    • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive IC design and analytics activities, and support the development and implementation of efficient, scalable solutions.
    • Support AI/ML initiatives within the IC space by helping identify relevant use cases, providing business context, and validating outputs for accuracy and usability.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve analytical approaches, strengthen controls, and enhance the overall effectiveness and scalability of IC design activities.
  • Business Impact & Collaborator Management: Partner with stakeholders to understand business requirements, clarify design questions, communicate analytical findings, and support recommendations that align IC outcomes with business objectives.

What we expect of you

We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 to 5 years of experience in incentive compensation Design, Incentive Compensation analytics, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, build structured analyses, and make data-driven recommendations. Proficiency in Excel is expected; familiarity with SQL and data visualization tools is a plus.
  • Technical Proficiency: Working knowledge of relevant software and technologies, such as incentive compensation platforms, sales planning and operations tools, CRM systems, and other field-specific applications.
  • Critical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to break down ambiguous business questions, assess alternatives, and translate findings into practical IC design recommendations.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage assigned deliverables, coordinate dependencies, track timelines, and follow through on actions across multiple stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with stakeholders across functions and geographies, build strong working relationships, and seek alignment on requirements and decisions.
  • Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain analytical findings and IC concepts clearly to business partners and team members.
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences.

  • Ability to identify process and analytical improvements and contribute to changes that enhance the overall effectiveness of the team.
