Senior Applications Engineer – Data Center and Energy

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Applications Engineer to support our Data Center and Energy products. This customer-facing role combines technical problem solving, application development, product support, and market engagement. The successful candidate will work closely with strategic customers to help evaluate, develop, and deploy power solutions across a variety of applications.

This position requires a strong foundation in electronics, hands-on laboratory skills, and the ability to understand and work with software tools used for device configuration, evaluation, and system integration. The role involves direct interaction with customers, participation in industry events, and creation of technical content that promotes product adoption and demonstrates technical leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical expert for power technologies, products and solutions.
  • Support customers through all phases of product evaluation, design, integration, and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, proof-of-concept activities, and application validation in laboratory environments.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, product management, and engineering teams to address customer requirements and accelerate design wins.
  • Perform hands-on testing, characterization, and debugging of hardware systems.
  • Develop and maintain evaluation platforms, reference designs, application notes, and technical documentation.
  • Provide technical training and support to customers, field engineers, and internal teams.
  • Participate in occasional local customer visits to assist with lab evaluations, troubleshooting, and product implementation.
  • Present technical content at industry conferences, customer seminars, webinars, and training events.
  • Author and contribute to technical articles, application notes, white papers, and other customer-facing publications.
  • Gather customer feedback and market insights to help guide future product development.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in applications engineering, field applications engineering, product engineering, or a related technical role.
  • Solid understanding of analog and digital electronics fundamentals.
  • Hands-on electronics laboratory experience, including use of oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, signal generators, and related test equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware and system-level issues.
  • Working knowledge of software tools used for device configuration, control, data analysis, or system development.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable interacting directly with customers and presenting technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with power electronics, power management, industrial automation, energy systems, or related technologies.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and digital communications interfaces.
  • Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, C/C++, or MATLAB.
  • Prior experience publishing technical articles or presenting at industry conferences.
  • Familiarity with customer-facing technical roles and support of strategic accounts.

Travel Requirements

  • Primarily office or laboratory based with frequent local customer visits, and occasional travel for technical conferences, and industry events.

The expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $126,943 to $174,579.
  • Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors.

  • This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors.

  • This position includes medical, vision and dental coverage, 401k, paid vacation, holidays, and sick time, and other benefits.
