GHJ Search & Staffing is partnering with a growing, established organization in West Los Angeles seeking a Senior Accountant to join its accounting and finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys a hands-on role, wants broader exposure, and is interested in working closely with senior finance leadership.
The Senior Accountant will support a variety of accounting and reporting activities, including month-end close, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, billing, reconciliations, audit support, and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and closing entries
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
Maintain and review general ledger accounts for accuracy and completeness
Support client billing, invoicing, accounts receivable, and related calculations
Review accounts payable activity and support payment processing
Prepare bank and balance sheet reconciliations
Assist with annual audit and tax requests
Perform financial analysis and ad hoc reporting
Research accounting matters as needed
Document and improve accounting procedures, reports, and internal processes
Partner with the Controller and other members of the finance team on ongoing initiatives
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Approximately 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles
Experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Strong Excel and analytical skills
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proactive, curious, and comfortable working in a hands-on environment
Preferred Experience:
Public accounting/audit experience or a combination of public and corporate accounting
CPA or progress toward CPA designation
Experience with NetSuite or another large ERP
Financial services or other complex corporate accounting experience
Experience improving accounting processes, reporting, or systems
