In order to support our rapid growth we are seeking to hire an Senior Accountant.
Position Summary
The main purpose of the role is to ensure the accurate, timely and compliant recording of the company’s financial transactions and to support the smooth operation of the Accounting Department. The Senior Accountant will supervise day-to-day accounting activities, coordinate the monthly and annual closing processes, ensure the accuracy and completeness of accounting records, and support the preparation of reliable financial information for management reporting and statutory purposes.
Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities

- Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day accounting activities.
- Coordinate and monitor the monthly and annual accounting closing processes, ensuring that all deadlines are met.
- Review accounting entries, journals and supporting documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Review and coordinate the correction of accounting entries and discrepancies identified during the accounting process.
- Prepare and review monthly accounting reconciliations and ensure that all balance sheet accounts are properly supported and reconciled.
- Monitor accruals, prepayments, provisions and other month-end adjustments.
- Ensure the timely recording of all relevant transactions in the accounting system.
- Supervise and monitor the processing and accounting of supplier and creditor invoices.
- Ensure invoices are properly approved, coded, documented and recorded in the ERP system.
- Monitor supplier account reconciliations and investigate and resolve outstanding balances and discrepancies.
- Supervision and monitoring payments of suppliers etc.
- Accounting of all the notes related to the personnel area (payroll, settlements, social insurance, etc)
- Supervise and monitor the accounting treatment and reconciliation of fixed assets.
- Ensure timely capitalization of assets and appropriate recording of disposals, transfers and depreciation.
- Maintain accurate fixed asset registers and reconcile them with the accounting records.
- Preparation and punctual submission of required tax returns. Attention, follow-up and answering the requirements made by the various institutions in tax matters.
- Monitoring all contracts.
- Participation of Coordination of the financial audit process. Attention to auditors.
- Maintenance of the appropriate parameterization of the financial module of the company's ERP (accounting groups, VAT groups, etc ...).
- Develops and maintains the company's Chart of Accounts.
- Ensure the accurate and timely reconciliation of MyData with the company's accounting records.
- Review and ensure timely completion of bank reconciliations.
- Monitor cash accounts and related reconciliations.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar accounting position, preferably within the hospitality industry and a large Greek or multinational company.
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles and Greek Accounting Standards (ELP).
- Working knowledge of Greek taxation and statutory requirements.
- Advanced knowledge of ERP systems; experience with Entersoft is highly desirable.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluent in English.
- Excellent attention to detail.

- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
