ABOUT THE ROLE
Daymark Health is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our growing Finance team. Reporting to the Director of Accounting, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of Daymark's financial records as we scale into new markets and lines of business. You'll be hands-on with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting, while also helping to build and strengthen the accounting processes and controls that will support Daymark as a growing, multi-entity organization. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented accountant who wants to grow their career in a fast-paced, mission-driven startup.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own key components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP, and support the Director of Accounting in analyzing results and identifying variances.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger across Daymark's entities, ensuring transactions are recorded completely, accurately, and on a timely basis.
- Support cash, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes, including reviewing and approving transactions as needed.
- Assist with the design, documentation, and continuous improvement of accounting policies, processes, and internal controls as Daymark scales.
- Support internal and external audits, including preparing schedules and documentation and responding to auditor requests.
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Clinical, and People teams to ensure accurate accounting treatment of business activity.
- Contribute to ad hoc financial analysis, reporting, and special projects to support company decision-making.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Experience. You have 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger accounting and month-end close, ideally with some experience in public accounting and/or industry. Any of the following are a plus, but not required:

- Multi-entity accounting experience, particularly experience with professional corporation (PC)-friendly structures common in healthcare services organization
- Experience in value-based care and/or the broader healthcare industry
- Prior experience at a startup or high-growth company is preferred but not required
- Technical Knowledge. You have a strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and can apply it accurately to real-world transactions.
- Detail-Oriented & Organized. You take pride in accuracy and thoroughness, and you can manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment without letting quality slip.
- Analytical & Process-Minded. You can identify the “why” behind the numbers and enjoy building and improving processes, not just executing them.
- Strong Communicator. You can explain accounting concepts clearly to both finance and non-finance colleagues, and you collaborate well across teams.
- Tech-Savvy. You are comfortable working in accounting systems and the Google Suite/Microsoft Office, and you pick up new tools quickly.
- Comfort with Ambiguity. You're energized by the opportunity to build and improve processes at a growing startup, rather than simply following an established playbook.
