About this Senior Account Manager (US) role at Code and Theory

Code and Theory · Onsite · Austin, Texas, United States; New York, New York, United States; San Francisco, California, United States

The Machine is the agentic operating system for marketing, built by Code and Theory. It plugs into the tools marketing teams use and turns disconnected workflows into a single intelligent system, connecting brand strategy, creative production, and media performance. The Machine helps power agencies across our network and world-leading brands.

We're looking for a Senior Account Manager to own the definition and success of Machine rollouts. This is an account and rollout ownership role. You define the work, track status, manage the financials of the rollout, and solve the problems that come up along the way, working alongside a Forward Deployed Engineering pod that executes the build.

You'll run implementations for both enterprise clients and internal clients across our agency network. The work spans deep, complex enterprise deployments and high-volume internal rollouts where both repeatability and customization matter.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Own the definition and success of the implementation motion across your portfolio, from pre-sales through go-live, adoption, and expansion
  • Define the work: translate client goals into a scoped, sequenced implementation plan the FDE pod can execute against
  • Manage the financials of the rollout: track budget against burn, flag variance early, and own the commercial health of your accounts
  • Partner closely with the Forward Deployed Engineering pod assigned to your accounts, giving them clear scope and priorities and clearing any blockers that surface
  • Lead client kickoffs: establish success criteria in the client's own language, define governance and decision rights for agentic AI actions, and set the communication cadence
  • Confirm integration readiness for each module in scope, mapping every required input to a confirmed client data source before build begins
  • Own plugin rollout and configuration, coordinating with the technical FDE on setup and version management
  • Monitor adoption weekly, tracking whether Machine outputs are being used rather than just produced, and intervene early when engagement drops
  • Manage escalations: surface risks early, come with a recommendation, and communicate with clients before they ask
  • Lead executive business reviews: measure performance against agreed success criteria, present business impact, and propose the natural next expansion
  • Choreograph security and compliance reviews for regulated clients, owning SOC 2 delivery, NDA execution, and formal go-live authorization
  • Continually refine the rollout playbook: document what worked after each implementation, so the next one is faster. Repeatability is a core part of the job, but there is an element of customization as well
  • Coordinate with sales and pre-sales on handoff so no client commitment arrives as a surprise, and feed implementation learnings back into how deals get scoped

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • 4–8 years in a client-facing delivery, implementation, or account ownership role at a SaaS, martech, or software implementations company
  • Experience owning the commercial side of an engagement: budget, burn, scope changes, and the conversations that come with them
  • Track record working closely with technical teams without being the one writing the code. You can translate client needs into clear scope for engineers and earn their trust
  • Deep fluency in marketing workflows: you understand how briefs become assets, how campaigns get planned and trafficked, and how performance data informs creative decisions
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools. You have used LLMs as more than just a search engine; you can explain how agentic workflows are built and operated
  • Ability to run multiple implementations in parallel without losing the thread on any of them
  • Strong written and verbal communicator. You can explain a technical integration dependency to an account lead and an agentic decision-rights framework to a CMO, and both leave clear
  • Organized and process-oriented. You build systems for yourself because you know rollouts live or die in the details
  • Comfortable in a startup-within-an-agency environment where ambiguity is the default and the playbook is still being written
  • Understanding of AI trust curves and agentic adoption patterns. You know stickiness is built through context accumulation, prompt mastery, and habit, and that features alone do not get you there

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience rolling a platform out across many teams or business units, where the challenge was standardization and change management rather than a single custom build
  • Experience in a regulated industry client context (financial services, pharma, healthcare) where compliance is a go-live gate
  • Familiarity with martech and adtech platforms
  • Experience working inside or closely alongside an agency or creative production environment
  • Background in brand compliance, content governance, or creative operations
  • Experience with enterprise vendor security review processes (SOC 2, ISO 27001, FINRA/SEC compliance environments)
