Role Overview
The Commercial Security Sales Manager leads the commercial sales team in a Johnson Controls field office. In this role, you will build and develop a high-performing sales organization, drive revenue growth, strengthen customer relationships, and support profitable business outcomes across your territory. Success in this position depends on strong leadership, disciplined execution, and the ability to connect strategy with day-to-day sales performance.

Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and motivate a commercial security sales team to meet and exceed revenue expectations.
Drive business development, customer development, territory management, data mining, professional presentations, and product sales.
Own job and channel profitability, revenue per user (RPU) growth, and retention of both customers and sales representatives.
Plan, coordinate, and implement commercial sales operations across the assigned territory.
Set clear expectations for customer touch activity, quota achievement, and sales execution.
Measure sales team activity and performance to ensure marketing efforts translate into strong sales production.
Implement Johnson Controls sales and marketing initiatives in alignment with territory goals.
Partner with other department and business segment leaders to align sales operations with customer needs and business priorities.
Work with Fire and HVAC Managers to leverage cross-sale leads and secure new business opportunities.

Lead with accountability, safety, and integrity while creating a clear and respectful environment for values-based discussion.
Stay close to the work by understanding customer needs, removing barriers, and keeping the team focused on what matters most.
Use candor, coaching, and data to improve performance every day and strengthen sales execution.
Win as one team by building trust across sales, Fire, HVAC, and other business partners.
Set measurable goals, follow through on commitments, and hold the team to consistent standards for activity and results.
Use CRM insights, territory planning, and market intelligence to guide prioritization and decision-making.
Balance customer development with operational discipline to support both growth and profitability.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, including 3 years of field sales management experience in a business-to-business environment, or successful management of another sales channel.
Experience with a CRM tool, with Salesforce preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proven ability to interact effectively with internal teams and customer organizations at both the senior executive and field levels.
Ability to travel nights and weekends to accommodate customer needs.
Functional and technical skills in leading a sales organization.
Business acumen, organizational agility, and a strong drive for results.
Customer focus, interpersonal savvy, and the ability to manage change effectively.
Experience building effective teams, developing direct reports, and motivating others.
Confidence in managing conflict, measuring work, and leading with vision and purpose.
Managerial courage and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-moving environment.
Nice to Have
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or another related field.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $118,600-$185,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role offers a competitive Bonus plan that will take into account individual, group, and corporate performance.  This position includes a competitive benefits package.
