TexasThe Security Manager partners and collaborates with Field Asset Protection and Field Operations management teams to address physical security and safety needs. This role is the primary liaison with security equipment vendors and alarm companies, managing $1.3M in annual security operating expense. The Security Manager determines allocation of more than $0.5M annually in capital physical security projects and major equipment upgrades per risk-based assessment process and oversees security at our corporate location, including loss control for jewelry/gem receiving and transfers and direct supervision of security staff. This role acts as the primary administrator of the access control system for all company support offices and primary point of contact for the Service Channel ticketing system for all store physical security and safety R&M. The Security Manager maintains vendor relationships and partners with other departments, including Procurement and Facilities to negotiate service contracts and manages alarm permits and false alarm fines to reduce cost and risk. This position reports to the VP, Global Security and requires working on-site at the Support Center in Austin, TX 80% of the time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports corporate security initiatives and serves as a subject matter resource to corporate-level team members on security-related needs
- Manages physical security for store locations according to risk-based needs
- Supports complex, unique, or high-profile projects and service work
- Approves security-related invoices
- Administers the access control system
- Ensures security-related service tickets are completed promptly, cost-effectively, and efficiently
- Coordinates with alarm companies and vendors to schedule service and oversee security system installations in new, remodeled, or newly acquired stores
- Designs security systems for new, remodeled, and newly acquired stores
- Issues access codes and ID badges for the company’s access control system
- Monitors day-to-day security at corporate headquarters
- Supervises, trains, and schedules corporate security staff
- Attends security-related conferences and vendor shows
- Stays current on the latest physical security and safety technologies
- Maintains existing vendor relationships and strategically seeks new vendor partnerships to provide the most technologically sound solutions
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- 4+ years of experience managing physical security projects in a multi-unit environment, overseeing installation of alarm and CCTV systems, managing multiple vendors to accomplish tasks in multiple locations
- Working knowledge of access control, video management (CCTV), and alarm monitoring systems
- Experience supervising security staff required
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (verbal) required
- Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, including presentations utilizing PowerPoint; attention to detail and accuracy; and time management and organizational skills
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Proficient in using company-approved AI tools (e.g., Claude) to improve productivity, analyze data, streamline reporting, and support security risk assessments
ON-CALL EXPECTATIONS:
- Responds to after-hours calls and emergency alerts, serving as the escalation point for the alarm monitoring center and security vendors, and supports the emergency response team as required
