KEY OUTCOMES:
- Accurately diagnose, service, and repair vehicles
- Document notes and recommendations on the repair order in the computer system
- Inspect vehicles and advise Service Consultant of any areas of concern, so customers are informed
- Ensure work is completed accurately and done safely
- Maintain and exceed minimum shop production standards
- Attend all required factory training and obtain all required certifications
QUALIFICATIONS: List the relevant qualifications that are needed to successfully achieve the key outcomes required for the job. Note any preferred qualifications, if applicable. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Requirements
- Associates of Science degree in Auto Technology or equivalent. Graduation from an accredited auto tech school (must be hands-on, not an online course)
- If the applicant does not have the minimum education requirements stated above, the following equivalent experience will be accepted*:
- Minimum three years of Auto Technician work experience. Experience with all types of general servicing and repairs including diagnostics, drivability, electrical, front-end, brakes, climate control (A/C), etc.
- Minimum five years of non-dealership independent or aftermarket repair shop (Sears, Goodyear, Firestone, etc.) Auto Technician work experience provided the work experience included diagnostics, drivability, electrical, front-end, brakes, climate control (A/C), etc. If applicant worked in a repair facility but work was specialized and did not include all types of servicing and repairs, the experience will not meet the minimum qualifications.

- Minimum five years of Servco Auto Dealership Lube Technician Experience. If applicant worked in a Servco Dealer Automotive Lube Technician position, they can be qualified to progress into Diagnostic Specialist I.
- Valid driver’s license and strong driving record
- Ability to safely operate manual and automatic transmission for a variety of vehicle sizes
- Must own basic set of automotive repair tools
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be able to work a 5/8 work schedule and must be available to work Saturdays.
