About this Seasonal Field Maintenance Worker role at Sandy City
Summary:
Under the supervision of the Fire Captain/Eng. Boss, performs urban interface thinning and mitigation efforts within Sandy City. Candidates will work with other part-time members on thinning fuels and creating fuel breaks.CLOSING DATE: Open until filled. Department will begin reviewing applications on August 10, 2026. STARTING SALARY: $17.00/Hour
STATUS: Seasonal (non-benefitted, 6 months or less)
DEPARTMENT: Fire Department
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Some related work experience is preferred but not required. Must be 16 years old to apply. Requires valid Utah Driver’s License or valid learner’s permit. Responsible for the use of discretion and judgment in emergency situations; great responsibility for the care, condition and use of department apparatus and equipment. Inform supervisor of mechanical or other issues that require service to equipment. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing; ability to write reports. Frequent use of weed eater and hand tools, must understand the care and maintenance of tools being used. Ability to analyze and solve problems; establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and City personnel.
