In this varied role you will be managing a team and building and developing relationships directly with the customer, partners and internal stakeholders at all levels to deliver improvement for the UK Submarine Delivery Enterprise.

The SDE Collaboration Team is based in Bristol. You will need to be willing to attend on-site in Bristol to work alongside our mixed teams and occasional UK travel to enterprise / partner sites.

What you will be doing
You’ll be focused on collaborative working within a dynamic team, ensuring the effective deployment of programme management tools and processes. Responsibilities include:
- Lead a uniquely collaborative team tasked with identifying, characterising, and delivering improvement across the SDE and its range of partners and programmes;
- Drive engagement to assure alignment of the team to customer and enterprise priorities,
- Set team priorities, balancing competing customer asks. Steer, review and authorise technical outputs produced via the Collaborative team in advance of customer release
- Create the vision for long-term development and growth of the organisation, working with the Programme Director and Senior Managers on future strategy, direction-setting, planning, staff-development, and resourcing.
Position Qualifications:

- Engineering background with large complex assets (ideally in service.) Experience of Submarines, Military Vehicles, Oil Platforms, Rail, Aerospace or other sectors will be suitable
- Continuous Improvement implementation and delivery
- Excellent analytical and engineering investigation skills, e.g. failure modes and root cause analysis. Capable of evaluating complex engineering and programme issues and considering contributory factors across a variety of sources.
- Leadership and management experience. Proven leadership of high-performing teams to deliver projects with the ability to coach teams to apply robust engineering challenge and translate complex information to clear briefs.
- Stakeholder engagement and management capabilities at all levels, dealing with executives, customers, partners, suppliers and internal parties
- Technical qualification to degree level, or evidence of equivalent experience.

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines, you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place. Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, you must hold a UK nationality. Any dual nationals will require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work with RRSL.
