About this SDE 2 - Infrastructure Engineering role at Seekho
Why this team exists
We run a growing portfolio of consumer businesses — Seekho at scale, alongside several younger products still finding their shape. The reason to build them under one roof is leverage: a new product should launch with login, payments, and notifications already working, and spend its first year on the thing only they can build.
What you'll do:
- Build the platform from zero-to-one. Design and ship the IDP — self-service provisioning, paved roads, templates, and golden paths — so product engineers can go from idea to production without filing tickets or waiting on you.
- Lead modernization and transformation as we scale: untangle the early scrappy infra, re-platform what's holding us back, and consolidate tooling before it sprawls.
- Own the full stack of platform concerns end to end — infrastructure, networking, security, runtime, observability, reliability, and scalability. At our size you'll touch all of it, often the same week.
- Treat the platform as a product. Your customers are our engineers. Talk to them, find the friction, prioritize ruthlessly, ship, measure adoption, repeat.
- Be security-first and cost-obsessed from day one. Build guardrails, policy-as-code, and least-privilege defaults in early — and keep our cloud bill honest. Cost efficiency is a feature, not an afterthought.
- Lead architecture decisions for the org: write the design docs, make the calls, and bring the team along. You set the engineering bar through example and mentorship.
- Stay hands-on. This is a coding role. You'll be in the codebase, not just the roadmap.
Requirements
Must Have:
- You've built platforms before — actually designed and shipped developer-facing or internal platforms that teams adopted, not just operated someone else's infra.
- Deep, first-principles understanding of infrastructure, networking, security, runtime, observability, reliability, and scalability — across the board, not one narrow lane.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure modernization and transformation work.
- A real platform-as-a-product mindset — you've defined golden paths and self-service capabilities driven by what users actually need.
- Security-first and cost-conscious instincts baked into how you build.
- You can lead architectural initiatives end to end — propose, align, deliver, own the outcome.
- Strong coding ability in Python, Java, or Go.
- Comfortable with ambiguity, scope, and the pace of an early-stage team — you'd rather ship and iterate than wait for perfect.
