Responsibilities / Tasks

We are looking for Sales Engineer for Nutrition Plant Engineering Division. The role is based in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Sales Engineer is responsible for developing and winning order for plant, line, and system projects by acting as a solution-oriented sales professional. The role focuses on liquid and powder processing, working closely with customers and internal offer management and engineering teams from early concept definition through order intake and project execution.

Job Responsibilities 
1.    Business Development & Opportunity Management
•    Identify, develop, and manage plant, line, and system-level sales opportunities in the food, dairy, beverage, chemical industries.
•    Actively generate and qualify leads, manage long-cycle CAPEX opportunities, and convert them into order intake in line with business targets.
•    Establish GEA as a trusted solution partner

2.    Solution & Technical Sales
•    Lead technical and commercial discussions with customers, from early concept development through proposal and contract negotiation.
•    Translate customer requirements into design basis, process concepts, PFDs, and P&IDs, in close collaboration with NPE offer management and engineering teams.
•    Conduct technical presentations with customers.

3.    Internal Collaboration (Matrix Organization)
Coordinate closely with Sales Offer Management and Engineering and Global NPE experts to develop competitive technical and commercial solutions.
Act as the primary interface between customer needs and internal technical capabilities.
Contribute to customer satisfaction and long-term business relationships beyond project handover.
 

Your Profile / Qualifications

Job Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Food Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial solution sales, preferably within food, dairy, beverage, or chemical processing plants.
  • Experience with CAPEX project sales, long sales cycles, and complex stakeholder environments is highly preferred.

Technical & Commercial Competence

  • Strong understanding of liquid and powder processing systems, including process flow, hygienic design principles, and system integration across unit operations.
  • Ability to read, understand, and discuss PFDs, P&IDs, and process design concepts with both customers and internal team.
  • Commercially strong, with the ability to balance technical quality, risk awareness, and profitability.

Personal & Professional Skills

  • Sales-driven, with a strong motivation to achieve and exceed targets.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable engaging with customers, consultants, and internal global teams.
  • Ability to present complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Good command of spoken and written English.
  • Computer literate (MS Office and basic proposal tools).
  • Willingness to travel as required for customer engagement and project activities.
