About this Sales Development Associate role at Marigold
The Company
Marigold is a fast-growing marketing technology company helping growing businesses build stronger customer relationships through its three core platforms: Emma, Campaign Monitor, and Vuture. We deliver powerful tools for email, SMS, and marketing automation that elevate engagement and drive real results. Marigold is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee with offices in Sydney and London.
The Role
The Sales Development Associate is Marigold's entry point into a sales career - and it's designed for someone taking their first job out of college. No prior sales experience is required. In fact, we're specifically looking for recent graduates who want to learn the fundamentals of the profession in an environment built to teach them. Your focus is twofold. First, you'll help prospects get up and running on Campaign Monitor's self-serve platform, guiding new users from sign-up to first successful campaign. Second, you'll reach out to marketing agencies to introduce Campaign Monitor as a solution for both their own marketing and their clients' - building the habit of proactive outreach that defines a strong sales career. This is a remote, US-based role with structured onboarding, daily coaching, and a defined path into our Sales Development Representative I position.
What You'll Do
Support prospects and new users through Campaign Monitor self-serve onboarding, helping them activate their account, launch a first campaign, and find early value in the platform.
Conduct outbound outreach - calls, emails, and social - to marketing agencies to introduce Campaign Monitor as a solution for their business and their clients.
Ask thoughtful questions to understand what a prospect is trying to accomplish, and share what you learn with the broader sales team.
Identify self-serve users and agency contacts whose needs point toward a larger opportunity, and route them to the appropriate Sales Development Representative or Account Executive.
Follow up on inbound sign-ups, trials, and marketing-generated leads with speed and consistency.
Maintain accurate CRM activity and contact records so the team has a clear picture of every conversation.
Participate actively in training, call reviews, role plays, and coaching sessions designed to build your prospecting and discovery skills.
Partner with Marketing, Customer Success, and Sales teammates to improve the self-serve and agency experience, sharing what you hear directly from users.
About You
You're a recent graduate who is curious about people and energized by conversation. You aren't intimidated by picking up the phone, and you'd rather learn by doing than wait until you feel fully ready. When something doesn't go well, you want to know why - and you're eager for the feedback that helps you get better.
You're organized enough to manage a full day of outreach and follow-up, resilient enough to keep momentum after a string of no's, and motivated by clear goals. You want a first job that teaches you a real, durable skill set, and you're looking for a team that will invest in that.

Comfort learning new software tools quickly.
Nice to Have
